The Great Authority-WildCATS crossover!
No, it's not fic - it's what's happening in the books in January 2010.
So, WildCATs is reputedly going to be featuring a crazy number of guest WSU characters overall (e.g. bringing in people from the cancelled Stormwatch PHD) and the story will overlap with Authority for a couple of issues starting with Authority #18 and WildCATS #19. Here's the cover for those 2 issues. Pretty!
Also, here's an interview with the WildCATs writer with some preview artwork that includes Midnighter, Apollo, various Stormwatch/'CATS personnel, and some old school Authority property damage - full of win, if you can overlook that haircut :)
My only concern really is
(SPOILERS from WS solicits/interviews, so look away now if you're trying to avoid them)
the Authority story arc is supposedly that the Carrier gets 'recalled' somehow by its creators and the team members have to decide if they're staying on Earth or going into the Bleed with it. The WildCATS artist has drawn a lot of Authority character designs (see WS forum) which suggests at least some of them will stay behind. I expect there'll be some good stories out of this, and I'll buy 'em all, but (much as I've loved DnA's run) I'm not too keen on reading yet another Authority arc where the team is all fragmented.
