Went to Columbus this weekend. It was alright. Nothing very spectacular to talk about really. Well, except for the new Union Station. Yes, they have closed the old location down and moved further down High Street. It's very lovely and has an outdoor patio area for dining. It's very nice. The menu is an eclectic mix of flavors and prices. I highly recommend it!

Speaking of recommendations: The Cincinnati theatre scene is bubbling with some new and great works before most bed down for the summer. At New Stage Collective, they are running a simply amazing show called "The Goat or Who is Sylvia?" I saw it last Thursday and literally went "WOW!" The show is about a successful family in which the husband finds himself in love with a goat. But, no, it's not a comedy. It's definitely an intense drama that questions the boundaries of love and how one mistake can ruin many lives. There are a lot of issues involved, but the script and the production are superb. It was one of the best productions I have ever seen in Cincinnati by far. And I mean that. The show has one more run this weekend (which is an extension of the original run), so go get your tickets now.

A second recommendation (and shameless plug): The Cincinnati Men's Chorus presents its annual Pride concert: This is our Country: American Music our Way! The music will be a blend of traditional spirituals, songs of freedom and pride, and the occasional camp! It should definitely be fun. It's June 1st & 2nd at the Underground Railroad Freedom Center.

Final recommendation: The Cincinnati Fringe Festival starts its 4th annual tour de force of alternative shows next week (May 30-June 9). 150 performances in 11 days. Lots of fun! I am not a big fan of the Festival, believe it or not, but there are usually a few shows that catch my eye. This year in particular, this one sounds interesting and promising.

Check it all out and hope to see you around the city. I know some people will be heading to Chicago this weekend, so hope you all have fun. I'll be here in Cincy helping out Jim and LCT with their Unified Auditions . Take care :-)
