Some thoughts about being back at college:
-Finally! I can eat food in the right proportions for me. No more overly full stomach every other day. The Ecksteins eat out a lot, and I went with them a lot, and it's hard to get yummy food at many restaurants in the right proportions (unless you get soup and a salad every time, which is boring).
-Damned book gougers! Is gouger a word? So far I've saved myself 30 bucks by ordering one of my pol sci ones online, 15 bucks on one of my history ones (ebay), 25 bucks on another history one (ebay), and another 30 bucks by finding a used copy at BGX (as opposed to the bookstore). What really ticks me off is this one book for my education class (the one I'll probably drop) is stocked as a hardback, when there's a paperback edition out. That's like a 15 dollar difference in price. And the other education book for that class is weird...it's specifically for Bowling Green. So I can't get it used at all. BS. Oh, and the crazy thing about my other education book (in the class I'm not dropping) is very un-education-book-like. Usually there are lots of pointless pictures and diagrams, but this one doesn't have that. Yay! Good god, imagine how much more I would've had to pay if it did have those.
-I'm glad I'm the one with the fan.
-My RA seems nice.
-I have to re-set-up my computer because of the place the cable hook-up is. I had the dressers on this side of the room, and my computer tower fit in the gap. But now the dressers are on the other side of the room and the futon will be going under my bed. No room for a tower, so it's going to have to go under my desk. I hate wiring things, this is going to suck. I'll probably leave that for tomorrow.
-I can't believe that I either didn't see at all or hardly saw some of my high school friends this summer. It's sad. I intended to get together with them...it just never happened.
-There's nothing to do at the moment but be on the computer. No one is around, except Steve and Tom, who are I'm sure busy with their own stuff. I might just end up looking through the four books for class that I do have in my possession. Or I could plan stuff for BGeX, or I could re-read the sixth Harry Potter book. I accidentally brought it back up with me. Maybe tomorrow I'll go swimming in my massive free time, if the Rec is open.
-I ran into Emily, Libby's twin, at the BGX and thought that she was Libby. Whoops. That was an interesting conversation though. She doesn't look -exactly- like Libby, but I wasn't thinking when I saw her "is that Libby or her twin?" I was like "Libby!"
-This semester my classes are Europe-heavy and Education-heavy. I'm taking English Origins of American Law, Western European Politics, General Methods, Macroeconomics, and either Education and the State (a history class where you write a big-ass paper, and that's the topic of the class) or Education in a Pluralistic Society. I have to take each of the later two eventually, though the history one can have a variety of topics. The other topics this semester I think had to do with the crusades, agriculture and globalization...and something else. Anyway, I'll probably end up dropping Education in a Pluralistic Society and taking it next semester.
-Amanda, Justin's girlfriend, is coming to BG this year as a freshman! Another girl buddy, yay! Last year I hung out with too many boys. She'll be up on Thursday. I'm thinking of taking her out to dinner on Friday for her bday, since no one else will be up here.
-The BGeX shirts this year suck! I don't know if the freshmen are getting different ones from us (they said they would in the Spring), but ours blow. They're a weird dark gray color, and they say BGeXperience in a talk bubble on the front, with "It's all about the experience..." written under that. And it's a different company that made the shirts, so the sizing is different. I haven't tried it on yet, but the it looks like it's going to be too big. I had to get a medium, as they were out of smalls (what else is new?). And here I was hoping that they'd be green with an awesome quote on them. Or purple, or red, or pale blue, or yellow, or even pink (they've already done black, dark blue, and orange).
-They installed a wooden floor on the side of the Dial entrance that you go through if you're coming from the south (Harshman direction). It's crazy.
-I'm very much enjoying having my iTunes back. My music!
Welp, I suppose that's plenty of typing for today.
