They Hate to (Be Too Busy to) See Me Suffer

I called a local medical device company earlier to schedule an appointment, and was put into their phone queue. The Great Prerecorded Voice pushed the "automatic callback" feature really hard, but I just stayed on the line like I always do. Then, after some amount of time (5 - 7 minutes, I think), they just straight up cut me off. Told me they were saving my place in line and would call me back when an agent was available, but that to be respectful of my time this call was over. And they hung up on me. Heh...

I feel both respected and infantilized, lol...
