More jeans shopping

The old jeans still fit OK if I cinch my belt to the last hole, and given that six months is nowhere near long enough to put significant wear on eight pairs of jeans, even worn pretty much continuously, there was no real need to go shopping today.

Yet I did. Ah, the lure of the end-of-financial-year zillion-percent-off sales. Dropping four inches from the waistband led me to jeans which were loose when I breathed in but just a little more than snug when I breathed out, so I figure that in a few months I'll be able to wear them without the muffin-top waist effect. Just a couple more sit-ups and I'll be gold.

The other reason was that even if wearing them now may not be a great idea, they were half a dozen pairs for under $90, even after the sales have been running for a week. I figure that I'll have a new hole punched in the belt, and when I find myself using that more often than the current setting, it'll be time to switch down. Should be enough to keep me going through 2009, anyway.

New books! I read Jumper, the book which got turned into a movie a couple months back - you know, the one with a teleporting Hayden Christensen and a stalky Samuel L. Jackson? Yeah. The book is much lighter on the action sequences, even though there are at least three hijackings, and the book!hunters never really got close to nailing the titular hero, who has a hell of a lot more of the movie!Griffin character about him than movie!David. The book is pretty much completely different, apart from some character names and the central premise, and comes with political messages about terrorism and American international interference.

Oh, and this pic, From Teh Internets.
