Putting another shelf in the rack and loading it up with Transformers, I realised that I could actually start making a count of my collection for the first time ever.
Result:
98 Transformers on shelves or my desk
2 duplicate Transformers (extras of ones I already have)
7 HOCs
2 Minicons
2 still boxed
9 knockoffs/bootlegs
plus a pile of smaller ones I have yet to dig out of storage, including the Stunticons and at least one Throttlebot I can recall.
I'm using the "what makes a single Transformer" definition here of "if it came in a single box, and was sold as a single set/team which were never sold separately". Thus Reflector counts as one, Dreadwind/Smokejumper is one, but pretty much all the combiner teams count as their individual components. There are holes in that definition, though - Minicon packs would probably count as three, if I ever bought any.
So all in all, I think I can safely say that I have over a hundred. Which is roughly how many I thought I had.
(For those who aren't in the fandom, this isn't many. The toys have been churned out by Hasbro for nearly twenty-five years now. My setup barely falls on the respectable side of the 'collection'/'box of plastic crap' fence. You don't have a Serious Collection in this fandom until you sail past the thousand mark and have to track your toys on a spreadsheet.)
Still, it's nice to actually be able to pin it down for once, even if it's just an approximation so far.
