Winds light to variable.

Drove down to the sea the other day, while it was squalling outside, and watched the horizon for a little while. Or at least where it would have been, had it not been obscured by mist and spatterings of almost-rain. The whitecaps jostled each other in their race to the beach, and the beachfront shops stirred enough to close their facades and watch politely from behind glass and idle restaurant chatter.

Gusts rocked the car gently and tipped the occasional empty bin, but in a manner that said it was more for the look of the thing. A bit of a freshening up before the long hot summer ahead, a time of softened tarmac and burning sands.

In deference to the weather's posturing, most people had retired momentarily indoors, content to move with the dance for those few hours. Of course, the beach and waves still sported those few souls equipped with an iron schedule or constitution. Or perhaps they were simply drawn to the wind beating on their faces and the rain on their backs; to see the dance up close and wild.
