After Bear prompted her w/an e-mail, our real estate agent finally got back with us today at noon (see a pattern here?). She said that she got th notification that the buyer is accepting the house as-is. Yeah!!! She sent us the paperwork and we saw that it was faxed to her office last night at 7:00 pm (see a pattern here?). She got it to us and told us we needed to sign it and fax it back. There wasn't a place for us to sign, so Bear had to prompt her to ask her where. Of course, she never replied.
We're terribly curious about what the inspector said, just because we're curious types. We asked if we could get a copy of the inspection report and were told that normally the buyer doesn't get one unless there is an issue with the house. thus, our real estate agent doesn't want to ask for one. So, we're going to push and see if we can make her do at least *something* for us in order for her to earn her money. I'm tempted not to sign the paperwork until our real estate agent provides this. :D Of course, I don't want the buyer to have an anxiety attack because of the incompetence of our real estate agent. SOOOOO, looks like I'll be the owner of only ONE home as of Friday of next week. YEAH!! Looks like there needs to be some celebrating that night. :)
Other than that, I need to get ready for my trip to Indy for next week. I have a hotel booked for a few nights after Bear's parents come into town and pick up the rest of our stuff. I also got a letter together for the buyers telling them all the quirks about the house that we thought they should know about early on (like how we installed the filter for the ice maker under the kitchen cabinet for easy access instead of behind the refrigerator so we wouldn't have to move the fridge, or how all of the manuals to all of the appliances are in a certain drawer in the garage).. I also need to get a congratulations card for them to put w/the bottle of champaign we're leaving for them. Hopefully it will welcome them to the house so that they feel like it's instantly home.
Last bit of news, we took Goober and our kitty Bear into the vet today. Bear was having some issues with his litterbox and Goob w/her ears. Seems that Bear may have to be on a special diet for the rest of his life (and thus the other cats will have to be as well), because he develops crystals easily in his urinary tract. As for Goob, she's been diagnosed w/a yeast infection in her ears. So, we're dosing the boy and the girl for the next several days. Hope they both start feeling better!
