Going to Guelph

Oct 25, 2013 08:19

Today I head to Guelph.  Tomorrow I'm presenting at the Human Rights are Animal Rights conference. I'm looking forward to presenting. I like public speaking. Although I always stress out about travelling, once it's happening I shift into professional mode and everything seems to go fine.

Work is going well.  My focus group of women who don't use cannabis worked out perfectly, with everyone matched up against participants from the previous groups who did use cannabis. I've got one individual interview left to do and then my data collection is complete and I can immerse myself in analysis. I'm almost finished transcribing my second-last focus group, and will dive right into transcribing the last one as soon as I have a chance.

My revisions to my essay for the Egale book are coming along well.  It's a more personal piece than I usually do, but I think I can polish it up so it shines as what it is.  I've got a revision to do on my article on bi erasure in Aboriginal education for the Journal of Bisexuality, but I'm feeling good about that one too. I'll have 4 peer-reviewed articles published in 2013, 4 more articles coming out in books, and I'll have done 5 academic presentations. That's not bad.
