October was a mixed bag when it came to the pluses and minuses. November has begun with minuses, but it's early days; so maybe things will pick up. Anyone who has been following my posts probably thinks my only thoughts are cranky gripes about the dangerous boobs in Washington. Not so. The reason those posts show up is that a news or feature item comes across the airwaves, or in some other medium. Such items get my dander up, at which point I have to rant and get it off my chest.

Today, I've really gotten going with Michael Palin's journals, this particular book covering 1980 to 1988. There is at least one other collection of his journals (from, I believe, earlier years, though I'm not certain of that).
