Why her?
Yesturday was an odd day, though I couldn't put my finger on why so i just ignored it and tried to do what I could. Then I got a call from my x-girlfriend because she felt like she was being attacked. It was fairly obvious that she was right because all the lights on my car suddenly stopped working when I tried to go see if I could help. By the time I got there the main problem had already been taken care of by prayer but she still felt bad and I was feeling something too. She thought it might have had something to do with her new house so we started heading in that direction. Partway there I tried a type of shield that I didn't think would work, it was shoddily put together and only capable of blocking against human attack, but it did work. This was somewhat surprising, since there isn't any reason I know why someone would want to attack her. After a while I decided to follow back to the source and found a group of four or five in a certain formation. I wasn't sure if these were people or spiritual beings (though it was obvious that the power was being funneled through a person somehow), so I tried an experiment to try to find out. I isolated one from the group and closed them in so that no energy could get in or out. The reaction was immediate, human, and probably from a female; I think she might have screamed, I don't know. Immediately the ritual stopped and several other things tried to get in past the wall. At that time I decided to make a point by not letting them in, showing the relative difference in power, and telling her to stop or back off or some such thing. After that I pulled back away without doing anything else, since I didn't really want to hurt her and there wasn't much else I could really do without risking damage. They didn't try anything else that night, or at least if they did it was too small for either of us to notice.
Two things seem important to say. First, this impressed on me how out of shape I am in terms of dealing with this stuff. I don't know what I would have done if the source had been a real threat. The second is the question, why her? The only thing she is doing of long term importance right now, in terms of changing things, is helping a friend have a place to stay away from a really bad relationship. Yes, she has other things going on in her life, like a boyfriend and family stuff, but none of that is a major change from any path she has been taking and so shouldn't be the cause of something like this. I also considered if she was attacked in order to get at me. I don't want to cause anyone any trouble and it has been a while since I did much of anything that might cause problems, or at least any problems that are out of the ordinary, so that doesn't make a lot of sense either. The day before yesturday I was called "arrogant" and "condescending" for, as far as I can tell, having opinions that differed from a certain person and voicing those opinions. I was not happy, I am a bit fed up with people who disregard others so easily, and I said as much. That is one possibility of the origin if the thing was sent toward me. The only other source that might have a reason is someone connected with Girl A, although the types of magik and training were so completely different that I highly doubt it. That I know, nobody else would have a reason to go that far.
So, in the end, I still have the same question: Why her?
