He'd rapidly put the plans into action once Demi had showed up at his apartment. He had been going to give her the best birthday possible, damn the world, consequences, and the bill. So after a long series of phone calls back and forth to Joe and Susan and Meg, he'd kidnapped Demi off on her birthday day to Boston. Wendy had been dying to meet her anyways and it would be good to get out of Texas for a little bit. He missed his sister and her husband.
He hadn't been expecting his parents to show and surprise them when they'd gotten to Wendy and Joe's place. Apparently Susan had informed them of Blaise's plans and they had arranged to be there as well. The delight on Demi's face when they introduced themselves and then when Wendy had gleefully given her the present that she and Joe had found for her had been awesome.
There had been shopping and sightseeing and lunch and then Wendy had stolen Demi away for private girl time as Blaise had caught up with Joe and his Dads.
A fancy dress dinner had capped off the night before he'd ushered a sleepy Demi back onto the plane to come back to the Metroplex. She was currently sleeping on the guest bed. They'd gotten back too late for him to feel good about taking her home. It had been a good time. He'd missed hearing her laugh and smile like the Demi he knew from before.
He made coffee before opening up his laptop and starting to type.
