The Mochi Gods Smile Upon Me
HUZZAH! Unlike last time, Operation Mochi was a success today! Yee-haw! Of course, this time neither of my siblings will be visiting but at least my parents will get their fix of Japanese goodies.
They've changed their selection of products to go with the spring, so I thought there were less mochis and more jellies, which I'm not such a fan of. Still, I was able to get an assortment of: regular mochi, white bean paste surrounded in pound cake, cherry blossom daifuku, and red and green bean paste surrounded in yellow cake. Or something like that. I'm very excited to try the last two - never had those before!
Also, it was such a pleasure to walk home today. It's Spring today! Too bad I'll be spending the remainder of it on a train. But I suppose that's no different than me cooped up in an office building all day.
