Remember that
wedding I attended this summer? My friend's parents (the Ds) are visiting this week and treated my other HS friend (L, who also went to the wedding) and me to dinner at
Tribeca Grill where I had
grilled salmon with parsnip purée and bacon onion stew and rose and tiramisu ice cream for dessert. Yes, rose ice cream! It was so delicious. Actually, the entire meal was delicious. Yum!
But the best part was seeing the Ds. I'm pretty close to them, having visited their house several times in HS and once in college, and we've always gotten along, so it was really nice to see them. The Ds are also hilariously fun. L and I, we had a total blast. We talked for four hours! The Ds peppered us with questions about our work. L discussed her dating life with them, seeking advice and input. I gushed about opera (are you really surprised? You know it had to come up). The Ds told me what musicals I should see. L and I updated them about some of our other HS friends. We discussed HS and college experiences (since their daughter and I went to the same college and L also went to an all-woman's college). The Ds gave us the update on their daughter (since she's really busy and the worst correspondent ever). And I don't know . . . we just couldn't run out of things to talk about! I love it. I'm so happy; it was a fabulous night!
