Clive Burr has died, after a 12-year battle with Multiple Sclerosis. He died peacefully in his sleep. He was 56.

Back when I was first getting started on the drums I listened to Rush and wanted to be every single member of that band. At the very least I had a goal; some day I would be good enough to play some of those songs...

Yesterday's post on Neil Gaiman's journal includes a cartoon of Neil playing drums. Which is, on the one hand, seriously cool. But on the other hand, I can't help but look at the kit setup and think, wrong! Would any non-drummers even notice

Walked around the lake this lunchtime and there were ducklings. Cuuuuute!

Less cheering, my rear tyre developed a puncture. I had to walk the bicycle home, and will be driving for a few days until I can get the requisite tools and spares, which I hadn't gotten around to so far.

I am now easing myself gently back into work after a long weekend away. I never sleep all that well on beds that aren't my regular one, as a result of which I overslept this morning and got into work a teensy bit late. I'm now reviving myself with a huge mug of tea, but am still yawning.
