I finally went to Waffle House for the first time. Oh yeah. Definitely great breakfast south of the Mason-Dixon. If anyone wants to give me good places to eat south of the Mason-Dixon line other than Waffle House, please feel free to drop me a line.
I will say this. The portions were JUST RIGHT for me. Back in my DC days, there was a place that I frequented near American U. called Steak and Egg, and those things kept you full for a good day, depending on what you got, and those portions were HUGE. I normally ordered a dish that basically had eggs, sausage, hash browns, and biscuits drenched in white gravy. That was potentially a heart attack and a half. Waffle House was close to it, except that I had a waffle and the main part of my dish was smaller.
The rest of the day had me going outside of Charlotte and then back to the Blue Ridge Mountains.
I'm actually waiting for the conference to start. Considering I'll be on my own for the most part, I just wanna go out there and socialize, so that I don't feel like my trip was a total waste. Though I will admit that I like not being at work. Especially around the first pay day since the raise went into effect.
Well, it's past midnight, and I have to get up in 5 hours. Oh yeah, one more quick thought.
On work days, I'm not a morning person. On days when I'm away from home and it's a weekday, I totally am. Strange, isn't it? I guess I've really learned to appreciate my precious time away from the office.
Ok, conference starts in the morning. Night ya'll!
