Here's my thing w/ conferences...

I love to do stuff on my own, meeting new people, taking the time to be by myself.

You probably know where I'm going with this.

Believe me, I like my church group, but only in bits and pieces.  I honestly did not wanna do lunch with them earlier today.  I just ate, daydreamed, and tried to find an excuse to break out on my own again.  And here I am, posting this blog in the main worship area, where the a/v folks are blaring some hard christian rock.  Oh yeah, rock and roll.

Anyway, I really enjoyed my sessions so far.  I had plenty of opportunities to interact with new people and even the instructors.  Heck, I was the only northeasterner in the group, so yeah, I get singled out every now and then.  But I don't mind.  The next session starts up in a bit, so yeah.

The loner qualities in me still prevails.  If I feel awkward in my social surrounding, I will just find a way to get myself out of it, even if I have to stuff on my own.  Which I guess is why I've been all the more dependent on the social life that I've developed for myself in the bars.  I'm not even gonna mention shows, because my concert crew is essentially family to me.  So, when is the next Rock Boat?

For you religious types out there, here's a thought.  Only 4% of this generation's teens have come to know Christ.  So...if you're a Christian, what are you gonna do about it?

Anyway, I'm still offering the invitation for all of you to take me away from this conference.  If you're in Raleigh, please take me with you to see Will Hoge tonight.

Oh yeah, one final thought.  The conference facility food SUCKS.  I've had 2 "regular" portions of food so far and now I have a tummyache.  Please send for Pepto-Bismol stat!
