Notes: Happy Birthday, talymil! Sorry it’s a little late.
Summary: This is the touching story of when the Animorphs and Naruto cast meet and have some enlightening conversations and insights and learn new things about each other and themselves. Or total crack! Look underneath the underneath to figure it out.

“It’s really good,” Naruto urged, pushing the bowl of ramen carefully to Ax, who was sitting across from him at the table in the mall.

Ax smiled and dipped his fork into the ramen and twirling some of the ramen around the fork before shoving the fork into his mouth. His eyes widened slightly.

“So?” Naruto said after a long moment of tense silence.

Ax swallowed and said. “It is very good, not as good a cinnamon buns and chocolate, though. ‘Oo’ and ‘ch’ are fun to say.” After a moment he added sadly, “Not as much as ‘ing’, though.”

Cassie knelt down next the dog, a shocked expression painted on her face. “Did you just talk?”

“Yeah,” the dog said lazily, “And you’re still in my light, lady. Can you move?”

Cassie just stared at the dog in front of her. She’d seen and done many things including, but not limited to, parasitic worms that take over your body, interacting with a blue alien who was a mix between a horse, human and scorpion and shared her mind with a dead woman/hero.

But, this, in her scientific anime-loving mind, had to be the oddest thing she’d ever seen.

“So,” Marco said, dropping his arm around a pretty girls’ arms. “Name is Marco, how about a date?”

The girl looked gave him a haughty look. Or at least Marco suspected it was a haughty look, it was hard to tell with her odd pupil-less eyes (and, hey, Marco had seen some really weird stuff, and a little eye defect wasn’t much, and somehow it fit her.)

“There’s a new James Bond movie and the pizza is on me,” Marco tempted.

The girl looked at him for a long moment before saying, “You do know I’m a boy, right?”

-

Ino glared at the girl standing next to her, holding the dress she was about to try on, and probably buy. “Let go.”

“No way,” the girl said, shaking her head.

“It would look terrible on you,” Ino snapped. “Blue is so not your color!”

“And it’d look better on you? News flash, we have the same build, hair color, skin tone and eyes.”

The two of them scowled at each other before the girl said solemnly, “My name is Rachel and I challenge you to a game of Rock, paper, scissors.”

Ino’s met that challenge with a smirk.

-

Jake opened his eyes groggily and his vision was filled with a pink haired girl leaning over him, her hands on his chest and a grim expression on her face.

Jake sat up as the girl pulled away from him. The two of them looked at each other for a long moment.

“What happened?” Jake asked.

“I don’t know,” the girl said, “I found you here, on your deathbed. A moment later…”

For some reason, Jake felt his lips twitch into a smile as the two of them looked at the sky together.

Somewhere far away, someone cackled.

Tobias was looking down at his human hands, confused, when a light blinded him. After blinking several times, he was able to see.

There was a prettier boy then him standing next to him.

The two of them stared at each other for a moment, before the boy turned away.

Tobias shrugged and looked back down at his hand and wondered, bitterly, who was controlling his life now.

“That’s a terrible sulk,” the boy said suddenly.

“What?” Tobias asked.

“You must have had it easy to have such an un-special sulk,” the boy replied.

For some reason that bothered Tobias deeply. After he remembered how, he glared at the boy, “I bet the worst thing that happened to you is being grounded for a month.”

The boy smirked for a moment before saying, “My brother, who I loved with all my heart, killed our whole family and forced me to watch it over and over again for seventy-two hours when I was just eight years old and sentenced me to a life of hate to grow powerful enough to kill him. Because of him, I had to leave the sort of family I was beginning to get again. What do you have?”

“I was shuffled from home to home all my life until I stumbled across an alien with my friends who said that were the last hope against a powerful alien invasion and gave us a small weapon of being able to turn into any animal we want for two hours. Turned out later, that he was really my father, but he had to abandon me to fight. On our first mission, I got stuck as a bird and now I’m part alien, bird and human. Although I can become completely human if I want to, it would mean giving up fighting, and the girl I love keeps pressuring me to,” Tobias said.

“Mine’s still worse,” the boy snapped.

“Is that something to really brag about?” Tobias asked.

“Yes, because it means I am better then you.”

“At having a terrible life?” Tobias said sarcastically. “Gee, I’m really jealous.”

“You should be,” the boy said, but the smugness had faded from his voice.

The two of them looked down, contemplating how much life sucked.
