You've Been in the House Too Long ...
Just a quick update to my current life issues.
I lost my job over the water being turned off. This is the second one I've lost over this issue in just over a year. I really don't know what I'm going to do.
Thanks to the wonderful generosity of our dear friend, veronica_rich we managed to get a shower on Friday morning.
Later,we went down to the utility company on Friday to pay whatever it would take to get the water back on but apparently, the slumlord paid the balance & it was scheduled to be turned on Saturday. We checked on the gas bill and it was scheduled to be turned off so we paid the past due & kept it on.
When we got home on Saturday after running errands, the water was still off. We called & they said that since the slumlord didn't answer his phone when they called (which he hasn't been doing for weeks) they wouldn't turn the water on until Tuesday if we were lucky. We plead our case vehemently and he said it might get turned on that evening but someone had to be there in order for it to happen. Finally, someone showed up around 6PM & we got water.
So, we are seriously looking for another place to live. We still can't afford to move but we're going to try as soon as possible. I'm really hoping I can find another job soon so that when we move it will be closer to one of our workplaces.
We are trying to make the best of everything but it feels like every time we are starting to get ourselves back on track, the universe totally fucks us over.
So, that's where my shitty life is at. I hope all of you out there are doing better and continue to stay afloat.
