I Fall ...
Good lord! It's been a whole week since I've updated. I had no idea. So, what's been going on in my life in the past week?
Let's see, it's been oppressively hot all week so I've mainly been doing as little as possible. I finally got all of the artwork and the checks out of my house (well, except for one person who didn't make and sales or include return postage). That is a huge accomplishment. I still have to get the tubs of the administrative stuff back to the person who stores it year-round. But I'm still almost rid of it all.
On Saturday night since we didn't have any theater, we went out to a nightclub for New Wave Night and had a pretty good time. There was a small crowd and we mostly spent our time watching a bunch of retromercials that someone had videotaped in the late 70s & early 80s and they were really fun.
After church on Sunday, we actually went out and saw a movie. It wasn't easy but we managed to see "Inception". We tried to see it at the 12:20 showing but the bulb broke and nobody in the place knew how to fix it (the projectors are not the sort I worked with in the past or I would have tried my hand at it) so we had to come back an hour later and see it in a different theater (which had VASTLY smaller seats and were extremely uncomfortable so I did not enjoy the whole thing as much as I could have).
As my friend veronica_rich noted yesterday, we've had some intermittently torrential rains interspersed between the oppressive heat. We had one such downpour late yesterday so they ended up moving last night's Symphony in the Park indoors so I was able to attend. This was both good and bad because even though I had a great time at the show, when I was trying to get a seat I slipped and fell and wrenched my right elbow. It's not broken but it is quite badly strained or sprained. And is quite painful.
So, that's what's going on with me. I hope you all are doing well out there. I will try to update more often.
