Ok, now for the real update. Here's what I've been up to the past three days.

On Tuesday we drove down to Southern Indiana and visited Dr. Ted's Musical Marvels,Lincoln's Boyhood National Memorial, checked into our hotel (Santa's Lodge), went to Frosty's Fun Center for some yummy pizza and played one of the hardest rounds of miniature golf ever, Then went to the Lincoln Pioneer Village & Museum, and finally out to the Holiday Drive-in to see Spiderman 3 (we could have stayed for another film but we decided to get back to bed before midnight).

On Wednesday we had breakfast at Santa's Lodge (which was absolutely horrible - skip it and eat somewhere else) then stopped by the Santa Claus Museum before heading out to spend the day at Holiday World & Splashin' Safari. I must say, I have never had so much fun at any sort of amusement park and I really want to go back again and again. Not only was the place very clean and family-friendly, the lines were almost non-existent and there were lots of rides that I could enjoy (I'm not a coaster kind of gal). I even had a great time just floating along in the lazy river while beldar went on most of the water slides. Not only do they have unlimited soft drinks available but tea is one of the choices and I was in absolute heaven when I found it.

That evening we stayed at the lovely Leavenworth Inn. The room was beautiful, the bed was wonderful and we slept great (which was nice because we were tired and sore from the day's fun).

On Thursday we were treated to a very nice breakfast at The Overlook which was also wonderful. The view there is spectacular and we had a great time watching barges sail down the river and the birds and bunnies frolic for us.

After breakfast, we headed up to Marengo Cave to do some cave exploring. We went on both tours offered and had a great time checking out the marvels underground. We were given a pass to go back later and do some canoeing so we will probably try to go sometime later this fall or next spring and do that. They gave us some incredible pizza and a huge salad which not only fed us for lunch but the leftovers were our dinner last night.

On the way back, we stopped at the Edinborough Outlet stores and did a bit of shopping and then came back home and pretty much passed out.

We really had a great time and I really want to go visit some of those places again. Hopefully, some of you will also get a chance to have some of the fun that we did.

Well, that's really about it for the vacation wrap-up. I hope everyone else was OK while we were gone.

The LJ Idol judges are still voting through Monday afternoon so I will be posting the voting button then. I really do appreciate everyone's support throughout this whole competition. I really hope I make it through to the next round.

So, that's really about it for me. I will be going out tomorrow to the Talbot Street Art Fair and the Independent Music & Art Festival (they're about two blocks away from each other). If anyone in the area would like to go with us, let us know. We'd love to go with friends.

So, that's it for me for today. I hope everyone has a great weekend.

TTFN!
