perfectly perfect.
Juliet isn’t one to sleep in her office, she finds it unprofessional normally, but with the way her schedule has been running her ragged she doesn’t have time to go home. She feels bad, especially because she had to send David to Jack’s just to keep up with her work load; not like Jack doesn’t have his own schedule. Running her hand over her face she lays down her couch, sighing heavily and letting her thoughts wander to her newest patient, Sun Paik. Pregnant and shot in the stomach, Juliet knows she’s done everything she can for now, and she’s surprised the woman didn’t miscarry. But it’s been a hell of a couple of days and now she just wants to sleep.
There’s a moment when she’s dreaming, and she knows she’s dreaming but she’s hanging onto something, afraid to let go. There’s the screech and screaming of metal on metal and right when she loses her grip someone’s grabbing her. She looks up but she can’t see who it is, he’s just begging her not to let go. For some reason she feels like she has to, and there’s something wrapped around her pulling her down, so she looks and it’s only darkness. She doesn’t want to fall but whatever’s still supporting him as he holds onto her is cracking and breaking so she lets go.
It’s her own scream that wakes her up, and she flies into an upright position, breathing hard. It takes her a moment, but soon enough she realizes she’s not in her office. In fact, she doesn’t even think she’s in the hospital anymore and she freezes. Where the hell was she? Her heart’s pounding for a different set of reasons now, and slowly she stands. She can still remember being dragged along rocks and gravel and she looks at her hands, expecting the pads of her fingers to be bloody, but they’re smooth. Taking a step forward towards a door, she puts her hand on the knob and twists, not knowing what to expect as she exits the room she’s in.
