Unexpectedly, Mathias opens his eyes on the same hill where he and Stacy died. With her by his side again, and Veronica and Webster in a nearby tent, Mathias tries to go about things the same way Jeff had, only to die by Eric's hand again.

After being stabbed, Mathias again ends up on the hill with Stacy. This time he tries to find Jeff sooner only to find that he's still doing something wrong. The knife doesn't surprise him this time.

The third time Mathias opens his eyes on the hill, he finally takes charge. He isn't much of a leader, but it's enough to change his own death for the time being and keep the others safe.
