It had been a week, to the day, since she had woken up here. Woken to a peaceful place like this, right out of a nightmare. To say it had been too good to be true would be a great understatement. And yet...despite the convenience of it, she didn't wake up back in another nightmare the day after. Or any day after that. She spent almost her entire time on the island hunting for anomalies--searching for a way to break free from the fantasy.
In the end, there were only two choices. Either this was completely real, as strange and unbelievable as it was, or the nanites had already won. She chose to believe the first, because she refused to believe that she had become something to hurt Atlantis rather than help it. For that, she was grateful she hadn't waited to agree to having a hut built.
She still wore the white dress, because the place she had been directed to for replacements had provided her with nothing else. Fortunately, it had not been so uncooperative with undergarments. It preserved a measure of dignity to be at least responsibly dressed, if not in what she would have preferred. As she understood it, she simply needed more time to negotiate with the AI behind it.
Perhaps Rodney already knew a way to access desired articles without negotiating the AI. That thought brought her back to the path, and the ring of huts she approached. They called it New Atlantis. It was hopeful, and perhaps a bit ambitious, but it brought a small smile to her face when she approached the entrance, and glanced around at the arranged huts.
It wasn't a flying city...but knowing friends and family lived together here...it felt more like home than she would have expected.
[OOC: Her first trip to New Atlantis--while she is perhaps a little overwhelmed, its a great time to meet her. She won't be challenging anyone's existence this time. Promise. SGpups note
