It had been a week, to the day, since she had woken up here. Woken to a peaceful place like this, right out of a nightmare. To say it had been too good to be true would be a great understatement. And yet...despite the convenience of it, she didn't wake up back in another nightmare the day after. Or any day after that. She spent almost her entire ( Read more... )

Since Michael's computers had showed up - and he was almost 100 percent certain they were Michael's computers, now - Rodney had done little else but work on them, sifting slowly through the information he had managed to download to his laptop and tablet. He worked through to the early hours of the morning, he slept, he got up and he worked again; it was almost like being at home with some project, but not quite. Every new piece of information he uncovered left him feeling more and more...ill, was probably the word ( ... )

Speaking of home...she found herself completely unsurprised at finding Rodney sitting in the middle of the community, engrossed in a computer. Despite the fact that she hadn't seen very many other technologies anywhere close to the level of the laptop, she hadn't honestly expected to find him with anything less.

Her smile grew at the thought that he would likely make one himself if there wasn't one to be found. She approached the table and clasped her hands at her waist, smile tugging wider with amusement.

"I'm fairly certain when they say 'go out and enjoy the sun', they don't expect you to bring a computer with you." Somewhere in there, she'd meant there to be a hello.

"I'll do it in a second, Elizabeth, just-" Rodney replied absently, taping intensely at the keyboard for a moment before the voice, and the name attached to it, registered. And yes, he gaped. As unexpected as this place was (a fact recently proven by the Wraith databanks popping up out of nowhere) he could honestly say he hadn't expected to hear that voice any time soon.

He looked up, turned around and yep, there she was. Elizabeth Weir. The last time he'd seen her she had ordered him and the rest of the team to leave her behind on the Replicator planet. She was dead.

But since when had the island stopped dead people from showing up on it?

"Elizabeth," he croaked hoarsely. What else could he say?

Her smile softened slightly, and she nodded. The surprise, she supposed, was to be expected. Even if John had told them all about her before, it wouldn't make it any less strange.

Especially if he came from after she did.

"It's good to see you again, too, Rodney."

Jill actually hadn't been in New Atlantis for a few days and even now, she wasn't sure if she was heading back or just approaching in order to avoid it more obviously. She kept meaning to visit Carson or John, but even now, she simply stood near the outskirts, braiding her hair carefully to keep it off her face and to keep her hands busy.

"Oh," she said, sounding surprised when someone approached. "Good morning." The woman wasn't anyone Jill recognized, but on the island, considering how much time Jill spent holed up in the lab, that didn't mean much.

She wasn't certain whether it was a surprise to see the Ancient woman first. Certainly it was a surprise to see her dressed as she was. It was very...uncharacteristic of her.

Still, she offered a pleasant smile and a nod. "I suppose I owe you an apology."

"What for?" Jill asked, before it even registered that the other woman thought she was Morgan and then she had to laugh as she shook her head. Tying an elastic around the end of her braid, she said, "I'm sorry, I'm not Morgan. It'll become pretty obvious after you've been around me for about thirty seconds."

Offering the other woman her hand, she said, "I'm Jill Langston. I'm... sort of staying here in New Atlantis." Which was vague enough, she imagined.

A look of surprise registered on her features briefly, before she considered the woman more closely. Aside from the clothing, there were minute differences between the two women...but they could easily be twins even so.

"Oh, sorry..." She took the woman's hand with an apologetic smile. "Elizabeth Weir. I suppose you could say I'm just moving in here."

Carson had heard that Elizabeth was on the island, but seeing as he was spending the majority of his time holed up in the lab, had yet to run across her. Actually, by this point, he was feeling a bit ashamed that he'd taken so long to seek her out; regardless of how sorry he'd been feeling for himself lately, none of it was her fault.

So, for the first time in days, Carson found himself back at New Atlantis, not able to help but think of how ironic it was that he'd chosen to head back on the day of the week that he was actually scheduled for a clinic shift, and wouldn't be able to stay but a few hours.

"Elizabeth," He said, upon seeing her near the outskirts of the settlement, "Well, aren't you a sight for sore eyes?"

She knew that he was here, alive. She'd come to grips with that as best as she could over the past week. Even so, to hear his voice so suddenly, almost made her question the reality of the island all over again.

She schooled her expression to pleasant neutrality, and turned toward Carson with a smile. "Carson...It's good to see you again, too."

He thought he heard Elizabeth hesitate a bit, and his expression softened. "It's alright," He said, "I've already heard about what happens back home, and It's really me-- I promise you."

It was never something he thought he'd have to do, and now for the third time, he was having to assure some one that he wasn't some sort of imposter.

Elizabeth nodded, and frowned slightly in thought. She had a feeling anyone from after her time would have a similar reaction to her. It was...a strange thing to consider, but it was most likely true.

"It really is good to see you, Carson."

Austin's own interactions with the clothing box had been more successful as of late, as it had moved from its selection of black Public Enemy t-shirts to... a marginally wider array of black t-shirts. Some of them were even appropriate, like the one he currently had on.

He'd been visiting New Atlantis in hope of catching Ronon for a properly painful spar, but the the no-longer-walrus was nowhere to be seen, which led Austin to attempt practicing stick fighting on his own, using the surrounding air - and occasionally the nearest tree - as substitute opponents. Somehow, it wasn't quite the same.

There was less grunting, for one.

He turned the moment he heard someone approach, posture relaxing upon recognition. "Doctor Weir," he greeted with a nod and a smile. "Still delusional?"

The familiar voice caused her to turn in surprise. She hadn't expected to see him in New Atlantis. She still wasn't entirely sure what to think of him. An ex-machine with the face of Sumner. Truthfully, it made her a little uneasy.

Her wry smile showed none of her unease, however. "That's a matter of definition."

"Most things are," he countered, giving the stick a twirl, trying hard to think of it as a sword. It would've been easier if it had been metal, not wood. "That's not exactly an answer, though." The corner of his mouth quirked into a half-smile. "Are you still attempting to generate headaches in nearby artificial life forms?"

"If you mean I'm always up for a few contradictions...maybe." She nodded slightly, glancing around the area. "I hadn't realize that you lived here, as well."
