Mondays are math days.

Actually that’s like negatively true since Mondays are the one day that I don’t teach math to kids who can barely count. Okay, that’s not true either, most of them can count or at least they will by the time I’m done with them. I’m not exactly day-specific as far as math goes either. I’m not day specific as far as anything goes.

It’s been a long time since I’ve done this, and I would like to think I’ve gotten more creative in the months that have passed. Instead of one piece of pilfered chalk, I’ve got two - green and pink - and I’m mixing things up by adding pictures in amongst the equations and numbers.

A mountain, a couple of dinos and unicorns, a pair of islands and I’m seriously resisting the urge to write “WHAT THE FRAK” across it. One giant mess of an equation and still no really way to figure out how it works or why or even if there’s a reason for me doing this.

Sighing slightly, I sit down Indian-style in the dirt and stare up at the wall of the compound. Maybe I should I just start passing it off as a weird type of art. That would probably go over better.

"Modern or post-modern?" I ask Fortinbras who has, like most dogs, more interest in his paws which he is currently licking than the wall. Figures.
