Throughout her life, Kate has tried to be prepared. For anything and everything. If sometimes she cannot be actually prepared for an event (like giving birth to and raising a child), she can at least be theoretically prepared.
Thus the stacks and stacks of books. She's memorized every possible fact, warning, and contradiction, although she tends to skip the parts about what her baby looks like. At 8 1/2 weeks, it apparently looks like a big tadpole with beady eyes and that's just too freaky. She likes to think it looks like a fully formed yet really tiny baby.
Of course, it turns out that something the size of a large bean can have total control of your life, tadpole or not. The hours spent puking into a toilet and the additional hours of reading about bloating, expanding waistlines, and giant breasts have really taken it out of her and her last thought before she passes out, a copy of What to Expect When You're Expecting propped on her belly, is that the miracle of pregnancy is really starting to resemble the results of bad sushi and an all night bender.
[ooc: Open to all! She's curled up on a couch in the rec room, Feel free to come in and wake her]
