You're never too young to die

Alex whistled to himself as he worked, swinging his feet on either side of the large branch he'd straddled. All in all this had been a pretty good week. School had started, they even had homework, he was sure being pleased about that might wear off eventually. He had his football (he's stopped thinking of it as communal property fairly quickly) which meant even when Hayley didn't feel like playing with him, he could do keepie up. He worried about Charlie a bit, but a sprained ankle should heal ok, though it would probably heal better if she'd stay off it instead of limping about the place. He'd wanted to bother her more about school but couldn't when she was hurt. He'd thought of a whole new angle on it as well, he was going to convince her to learn a language, lots of adults did that.

He hops to his feet balancing on the branch (it's a pretty wide branch) and securing the wall he's been working on. He tugs on it experimentally to make sure it's held firm. The first tug holds so it's a surprise when the the second doesn't, he's pulled so hard (over confident, Rider,) the wall slams into his head, which might have been just a headache if not for a particularly jagged bit of bamboo at the top. It's gashes his forehead open and the sting of it distracts him as he over balances and ends up knocking the breath out of himself as the branch slams into his stomach. He dangles over it for a moment closing his eyes against the throbbing sting of the cut, the rapidly forming headache and the nausea from the blow to his stomach. He opens his eyes after a long moment and it's a mistake blood is flowing freely from the cut and gets in his left eye making it hard to see and now his eye stings as well. The world looks weird from this angle and Alex unable to help himself vomits and then feels himself slide. He scrambles with his hands and ends up clinging to the underside of the branch, his feet dangling. He sighs and attempts to squint at the ground with his good eye before letting himself drop. He really hopes he doesn't land in the sick. He jolts himself all over landing and sits back pressing a hand to the cut and trying to rub blood off his face.

[ooc:Alex hasn't been injured in months a track record that was too good to last. Open to all but particularly wanting Hayley, Charlie and Carson. Late tags and slowtime fine]
