First of all: I can feel weather changes in my jaw, where the metal plates are. That's just...strange.

It occurred to me yesterday that the most patriotic object we own is a little tree air freshener in our car that is colored like the german flag. While I was amused, I also began thinking about patriotism in different countries, mainly how people show it.  Inhabitants of the USA are usually considered very patriotic, right? I just finished reading a very interesting paper called "The French and German versus American Debate over 'New Religions', Scientology, and Human Rights" by Stephen Kent, published in the Marburg Journal of Religion, Volume 6 in 2001, and available as PDF on their website.
