Sunday night and most of Monday was not fun. Dizziness (room spinning most of the time), nausea, and five epic bouts of non-productive heaving. (Normally I am what my doctor refers to as a "born non-puker".) No other symptoms, which could make it harder to pin down. Possibilities included food poisoning, a virus or
vertigo.
The nausea was debilitating enough that I had to pause three times while drafting the email informing my boss that I was officially Out of Commission, then sprint down to hall to Drive The Bus after sending.
My doctor wasn't available, so I ended up seeing one of the new ones at our clinic. I was impressed that not only had she Actually Read My Chart, but she was knowledgeable about my situation (vertigo) and knew exactly what to do about it. Got a painful shot for nausea that knocked me out for the rest of the day and pills to take for when that wore off, and instructions to perform the
Epley Maneuver if it happens again. Bloodwork to follow if it doesn't improve after three days. Arm is really sore, but it was worth it. Feeling better now. Hoping a full night of sleep will knock it down. Worst time of the month for this to be happening work-wise, but they've been great.
