Rest in peace, Anita

Anita Datar, one of my DC-based colleagues was among those killed in in the hotel attack in Mali today. She was 41 years old and left her young son Rohan behind. She was in Mali to help. I only met her a few times and didn't know her well, but it hit me in the heart. She was on several of my projects teams and I communicated with her on Skype and email. She has many friends, family and colleagues who loved and admired this beautiful lady. I've been wanting to say something but words fail me in the face of something like this. I think she'd be horrified to know that people will latch onto this as an excuse to persecute, maim and kill more innocent people.
