like I need more TV shows in my life, right?

As most of you know, I'm a huge TV buff. I'm finding myself at a loss since most of my shows have gone on summer hiatus, and have decided it's time to turn to my, "I've Been Meaning To Watch..." list. I'm still working through Bones, but I'd like to mix it up a little: after all, while the show is great, you can only watch so many episodes about ( Read more... )

I seriously love this show to bits and pieces. It's so incredibly delightful, I just cannot get over it. :)

Yeah, I don't know why I got side-tracked! I liked a lot of what I saw. One way or another, I'll definitely watch it. Everyone with good taste seems to love it. :]

I voted for Doctor Who because I am currently 2/3 of the way through season 2, and although the CGI is terrible and the plot is not always spectacular, there is till something so quirky and amazing about it.

This may also be my crush on David Tennant speaking, just a little, but he doesn't come up until season 2. (I developed said crush after 1 episode, cries. If you like dorky/adorable, I would kind of recommend it just for him, if you can get through season 1.)

Yeah, I saw episodes from...um, not the first season, but the one with Rose? The blonde? I don't know if she's in more than one season or not! This show confuses me, haha.

I do like dorky/adorable, and too many people I know love Doctor Who and tell me to watch it, so I feel like I'm behind, almost.

I vote you try the current series of Doctor Who aka the ongoing one with 11. I think it's consistently good and I like 11 best as the Doctor after going back and rewatching the previous series no matter how adorkable 9 is and how huggable 10 is.

I believe people when they say that LOST is really good but 6 seasons seems like a lot of time investment, especially now that I've read very detailed summaries and discussions of the finale because I was curious.

So, I have a question!

I know they change Doctors regularly, and the show retains its basic premise. Do the characters/situations change?

And will I be lost if I start the current season now/is the series worth watching the whole way through?

Haha, I guess that was more than one question.

Well I watched the first episode of Series 5 and got everything just fine without having seen a single episode beforehand :D Obviously prior knowledge enables you to get more little jokes and meaning of throwaway lines, but they're not essential to the plot. The Doctor remains the same man, he just looks different and has slight personality changes, so knowing his past is important as far as knowing the character fully goes, but you don't need to in order to understand the show. It helps that he gets a brand new companion in the first episode of this series too so there's no background in terms of that either :D It's all new and shiny ( ... )

Ah, okay. I get it! That sounds good.

Okay, so Series 5 sounds like the consensus for starting.

Thanks for linking to the recs! I'll definitely look into those. :D

i am only good for trash TV like family guy and american dad. lol um, non-trash shows might be house and will & grace? idk. wildboyz is always amusing to me. it's still stupid stunts but at least you learn something about other countries, bahaha.

i am such a waste of space.

Lol, you're not a waste of space! D:

And I watch House, but never have seen Will & Grace. I'll definitely keep that one in mind.

Oh, the new Who is FAB. And if you just start with him (with Eleven, the newest iteration of the Doctor), there's not so much to catch up on. It's such a delight.

So, you're the second person to suggest I start with Eleven, and I'm just wondering if I'd be confused going in. Is the series as a whole worth watching? I'm a little confused on the structure of DW, lol.
