life
It's raining. Like, a LOT. ^_^ I love rain, especially in storms. [Yikes! EZ just told me we're on flood watch for the next 24 hours. And then I looked out the window and there was a river.]
Yesterday Mel came over and we were helping my dad repaint our garage. We didn't get to the painting, really, but we did plenty of scraping. It yesterday sounded like the T coming through Harvard Square Station. Wannnnnt Bostonnnnnn.
I also took my dog for a walk (or tried to; he was very stubborn) with Em yesterday, which was really fun. It was really nice to catch up with her, and I talked to her folks for a few minutes. I should try to keep up with her better this year.

Finally, a thought about an entry from a few days ago. The Writer's Block prompt was "what did you learn from your adolescence?" and I while I was listening to Relient K (♥), this came up:
"Wisdom always chooses these black eyes and these bruises over the heartache that they say never completely goes away..." [which is followed by] "No, I don't hate you, don't wanna fight you. You know I'll always love you but right now I just don't like you..."I've used the second part in conversation loads of times, but that was the first time I'd really heard the bold part. And I realized that that was something else I definitely learned during my adolescence: a real, nasty fight now is going to yield a better result than avoiding it because if you don't fight for whatever it is, then you'll probably lose it, and you'll never know what it could have been. But if you fight for it and lose the fight, then you'll know it wasn't supposed to happen.
