Short update and new lovely poem :)
So... I've returned to LJ with lots of Writer's Block question-answers and more excuse-making about why I don't post. In part tumblr has become very addictive, in part I've started actually reading books on a regular basis again (what?), and in part vacation was too much fun and then work was too energy-consuming.
Anyway. Short update: we're going to a water park tomorrow but we're only taking 12 campers and a bunch of the parents were upset that they weren't informed before today that their kids were having behavior problems, and I had to deal with them, and I'm like, "I've been gone for two weeks, I'm really clueless, ahhhh" and it was stressful... And being PMSy leads to me crying and it's just bad... Oh, and our worst offender of the summer called another kid both 'fag' and 'nigger' within two minutes of each other. What a great day...
All that said, tomorrow should be fun. Laura's driving out to meet us, and that will be nice. I've missed her. Also today I taught one of our girls to knit and she really enjoys it.
Ummmm next week is the community band concert and I'm really excited. It's going to be really fun. Rehearsal tonight was a great pick-me-up. Also I got to see House and hear stories about our director and my horn teacher when they got drunk at a party, both which also brightened my evening.
And to close for the evening, House and I were talking about Emily Dickinson the other night, and then I found an illustrated book of her poems on my couch, so I started reading them, and one of them jumped at me (x-posted at poemsdaily ).

Anyhoo, I'm getting a cold :( so I think it's going to be tea and maybe shower time, and definitely sleep time. I'll try not to disappear for so long again...
