Kahlenberg suggests using integration by income levels as a substitute for the racially-based school-choice policies recently struck down by the Supreme Court. This makes considerable sense to me.

I volunteered for the GEMS* program this past week, teaching four groups of middle and high-schoolers how to make plaster bars and measure their strength.
