Title: Untitled

Pairings: Akame, hinted TaNaka and JunDa

Summary: Kame-sensei had enough of this nonsense soccer club when one student of his kept failing his quizzes. He was going to tutor the student after class, together with the others who are also in danger of not passing his subject, because next week would be the midterm exams… but he found out from the principal that the kid will be excused from attending all classes. Why? It’s because of the soccer training for the big game next week. He understands that the kid was the best player the school has and that he would probably be the key to win the championship games… but he wouldn’t allow this nonsense to continue. So he decides to talk to the Soccer Coach and make him see reason...

“What?!” Kazuya yelled at Johnny-san, the school principal who just chuckled at him. “You’re telling me to excuse Takaki-kun from taking my review classes, exempt him from the class this week and for next week’s exams as well?” he snorted when the old man nodded earnestly. “Do you honestly believe I would allow that? He needs to pass the midterm exams, Kouchou-sensei! If he flunks my subject, it’ll be hard for him to catch up! He might not be able to graduate this year if that happens!”

“Kamenashi-sensei,” the old man’s tone was calm. “You will do as I say.”

“I won’t! Have you forgotten the whole reason why we became teachers? It’s to mould the student’s bright future! Are you telling me that it’s okay for him to fail his exams?”

Johnny sighed. “He will not fail his exams. I’m giving him enough time to study because right now, he needs to focus more on the upcoming inter-high games. That’s why I’m excusing him from his classes and examinations until next week.”

“Kouchou-sensei, if he does not attend my classes this week, he will fail the midterm exam! All the crucial lessons and reviews are in this week, Kouchou-sensei.” Kazuya continued to reason out with his boss. “What about his other subjects?”

But the old man wouldn’t budge from his decision. “I fully believe Takaki-kun would be able to pass the exams without any hitch. Have faith in your student.” Johnny smiled. “Of course, if you want to make certain that he won’t fail any of his subjects… you can always tutor him after practice.” He chuckled after hearing Kame grunting from irritation. “Now, like I said awhile ago, he’ll be excused from all his classes. Ensure that his other teachers know this too.”

Kazuya huffed, turned to get out of the room, and banged the door close on his way out of the old man’s office.

‘Stupid Principal! I don’t know why he allowed a failing student to stop attending classes just because he needs to be in soccer training now.’

Kame’s blood boiled in anger and the only way to calm him down is if he talks and reasons with the kid’s coach.

And so Kamenashi Kazuya, a passionate 25-year old Math teacher, stormed his way to the Soccer Field to find the person he wanted to strangle.

-----

Jin waved his arms as he called the attention of all the players doing dribbling exercises. “Team meet here!” he shouted.

The members made their way to where the coach was situated.

“What’s up, coach? I thought you told us to do this exercise for three hours?” Hikaru asked. “We’re not even doing this for an hour and you’re already calling for a meeting?”

“Well, you will do that for three hours, I just had a pressing announcement to make that’s why I temporarily stopped the practice.” He laughed heartily when the kids groaned in displeasure. He cleared his throat and started. “I need to inform you that Kouchou-sensei agreed to exempt everyone from classes this week and the exams next week… with the condition that you all do well in your exams.”

Cheers were heard when he said that they’ll be exempted from classes and exams but groans soon followed when they heard the last part of his statement. Jin sniggered and gestured wildly at his team. “I’m pretty sure you’ll do fine! You have to study on your own so make sure someone from your class is willing to take notes for you.” He smiled affectionately at his players. “Alright, meeting is over and done with! Go back to doing the exercise.” he looked at his watch. “You’ve got two more hours!”

The boys mock-saluted at him and went back to the field to continue doing the dribbling exercise with their respective partners.

Jin shook his head when Takaki Yuya, who was half asleep throughout the meeting, got hit by the ball sent by his dribbling partner Arioka Daiki. Seeing that the boy wasn’t really hurt bad, he turned and went back to his office to wait patiently for the ticking bomb named Kamenashi Kazuya, who for sure will complain about this setup.

He can’t wait to finally meet the man he’s been fantasizing a lot when he came to work here in Johnny’s Academy.

Even if he knows the other will raise hell for this thing he asked to be done.

-----

Kazuya arrived at the field and spotted Yuya and a few of his students. He approached them and asked quite coarsely. “Where the hell is your coach?”

Takaki looked worried but nonetheless answered his teacher. “He’s in his office, Kamenashi-sensei.” He pointed to the general direction of the gym. “Why? Did you need something from him?” He asked worriedly.

“Yes, I do. Don’t think you can escape my classes, Yuya-kun.” Kazuya said warningly, and stomped his way to the gym.

He barged in without knocking and got the biggest shock of his life when the man he was looking for…

Was currently undressing in the room he just barged in.

“Ah, my eyes!” he wailed dramatically, shielding his eyes from the sight that behold him.

Jin snickered. He should have known the prude, but handsome man, would react that way. “Well, you should have knocked first.”

“Whatever~! Just-- just dress up please!” The smaller of the two said, waving his left arm while his right hand still covered his eyes.

Jin chuckled but did what was requested. He pulled his pants up, zipped it while he stared at Kazuya’s seemingly small figure. “There, I’m all done.” He said, and sat on the office desk. “Is there any reason why you’re looking for me?”

Kazuya cautiously took his right hand off his eyes and stared directly at the man. “Yes. Frankly, I’m here to complain about this whole business of excusing Yuya from classes AND exams!”

“Oh.” Was the wise reply Kazuya got from the man in question.

“Oh? Is that all you can say? Do you honestly care if that kid passes my subject or not? Do you care if he graduates this year or not?! If you are, then you will have him go back to my class and take my review sessions so he won’t fail.” He said hotly, making Jin ogle at him for a few seconds.

‘Oh boy~ he looks totally hot when angry~!’ Jin thinks, resisting the urge to giggle. He cleared his throat and spoke in a modulated tone. “If you’re that concerned, then you do one-on-one sessions with him after the big game next week.” He says reasonably. “From what I’ve heard from Kouchou-sensei, you’re the only person who reacted harshly with the request I made.”

“Of course I would! I care if my student won’t graduate because he failed my subject!” Kazuya retorted. “And don’t try to reason with me, mister! I won’t consider a special one-on-one review class because that would be unfair to his classmates.”

“I understand but we really need him for the game next week.” Jin said, adopting a kicked puppy look, hoping to make the other to feel pity. “I need him to train with the rest of the team to ensure that the trophy would be ours next week.”

“No.”

“What about a compromise? I’ll help you out with Yuya-kun’s review classes after the game.”

“No.”

“You’re hard-headed.”

“And you don’t care about Takaki-kun’s future!” Kazuya angrily said. “Winning a soccer game will be nothing when he knows that he won’t graduate this year because he failed one subject.”

“And you’re also hard-hearted. Didn’t you know that it was his dream to take the trophy back to school? Taking that away from him… is cruel.” Jin sighed.

Kazuya’s eyes turned to seek Jin’s. “What do you mean?”

“Making him take the exam instead of playing for the championships… don’t you think the chances of him failing the exam is greater when we you take that road? All he’s gonna think about is the game… he wouldn’t be able concentrate fully with the exam. Or classes, for that matter.”

This time, it was Kazuya’s turn to groan. “You’re right… Fine, I’ll take the compromise you were offering awhile ago. Just make sure that he’ll be passing my midterm exam, and of course, the finals!”

“Sure thing.” Jin gave out a relieved sigh. “I think I owe you a dinner or two after this thing is over.” He stated.

“You will.” Kazuya said lightly. “Anyway… I need to go home. I’m tired from arguing with you and Kouchou-sensei… only to know that I wasn’t successful in convincing you to make Takaki-kun take his classes.” He said in a slightly bitter tone.

Jin chuckled. “Please, that’s already over and done with, right? We had a deal. I’ll make it up to you, I promise.”

“I was just kidding.” Kazuya said, smiling. “I understand now. I gotta go. Ran-chan’s waiting for me already.”

“Ran… chan?” Jin asked, a bit fearful to know the answer. He doesn’t know what to do if the other man had a girlfriend or wife waiting at home for him.

That was something he forgot to research on!

Kazuya smiled as sweet one. “Hai. Ran-chan’s my dog.”

“Oh…” Jin smiled upon knowing that it wasn’t any girl. “Well… I don’t want to keep you here when your dog is waiting for you at home.”

-----

Kazuya walked to the car park. “Chikusho! Just make sure he passes my exam.” He muttered.

Sure, he caved in and understood Takaki was really needed in the game next week but that still didn’t stop his blood from boiling.

Kazuya was shaken out of his reverie when his phone rang.

Junno the display showed and he answered the call from one of his best friends.

“Moshi moshi?”

“Kazu-chan? Hey, are you free tonight?” came the annoyingly loud voice from Junno.

“I am. But it’s a school night so I don’t want to go out. Why?” Kazuya said, fishing for the car key in his pocket.

Junno sniggered. “You’re a teacher, not a student, so you can definitely be out on a school night.” He pouted. “The guys wanted to meet in the usual bar. Apparently, Maru and Koki have something to announce.”

Kazuya chortled. “If they’re announcing what I think they will be announcing, then I think I won the bet.”

“What do you mean?”

“Remember the bet between you, me and Tatchan?”

“Ahhh… that one…” Junno muttered. “Too early to say you’re the winner, Kazu. I don’t think they’re together.”

Kazuya snorted. “That’s just you being bitter because you can’t approach Tatchan. Trust me, they’re an item now.”

“Hey, that’s totally below the belt! Don’t bring Tatchan into this conversation. We’re different compared to those two idiots.” Junno protested.

“Yes, you’re different because unlike those two, you’re both cowards! You can’t even admit your true feelings for each other!” Kazuya continued to tease his poor friend.

“Mou~ no fair!” Junno grumbled. “I don’t wanna talk to you anymore. You’re being mean!” Junno wailed jokingly and then said seriously. “No joke though, you need to be there at ten pm sharp. Gotta go now or else my boss will have my ass fried in ten different ways!”

“Hai~” Kazuya answered and laughed out loud when Junno ended the call promptly. He spared a look at his wrist watch. “It’s only five pm~ I think I have time to rest for a bit.” And he drove his way back to his home.
