Title: You’re the One I Want
Pairings: Akame (main), small mentions of Haruma/Mirai
Fic Notes: Alternate Universe. JE and Drama Crossover (14 Sai no Haha)
Summary: Their first encounter and impression of each other wasn’t exactly the ideal meeting one would ask for. Jin’s brother knocked up Kazuya’s only sister but the former and his family denied it, thinking that the Kamenashi family is lying about the pregnancy either to get a shotgun wedding or compensation. The situation turned from worse to worst for Kazuya when his sister died while giving birth to her son. Five years down the road, Kazuya is peacefully raising his nephew as his son when Akanishi Jin suddenly turns up and is battling him for the child’s custody.

Chapter Two

“Thank you so much Murakami-sensei, Sakurai-sensei.” Kame bowed gratefully at the pre-school teachers.

“It’s okay. We will be staying in late today because it’s a Friday. It’s not a problem to wait up for you until 7pm.” Sakurai Sho smiled at the fretting single parent. “You must be busy at work.”

“Uh, yeah, a client of mine requested to extend his therapy sessions today and I wasn’t able to arrange for somebody to pick Kousaku up...”

“It must be hard work to do this all by yourself.” Murakami Shingo whispered his musings over Kame’s situation. If Kame heard his musings, the latter didn’t give a comment on it.

“I need to go...” Kame spared a glace at his wristwatch and kissed the cheek of the boy currently on his arms. “Kousaku, be a good boy! Don’t give Murakami-sensei and Sakurai-sensei a rough time, okay?”

“But I’m always a good boy!” Kousaku gave his father a v-sign.

Kame smiled and placed the boy down. “Bye sweetheart.”

“Bye daddy!” Kousaku blew his father a kiss.

With that, Kame rushed off to his patient’s home.

-----
“What? You want me to look for your brother’s love child?” Yamapi inquired shock evident on his face. “But... Haru’s only... only 19...”

“I know.” Jin face palmed. “He had the child at 14.”

“14?!”

“Yep.”

“Oh my god.”

“You said it.”

“But...”

Jin growled. “Yes. He’s was that young when he sired a child, get over it, Pi!” He irritably said.

Yamapi cleared his throat, a little miffed at Jin’s attitude. “Well excuse me for being shocked at your sudden request to find this love child of your brother! Do tell me, what’s the use of finding the kid?”

“Look, you know my condition. We found out years ago that I don’t have enough sperm count to have a child. With me as the last surviving Akanishi... this family can’t end with me, Pi.”

“Ah.” Pi nodded his head in understanding. “Okay... so do you know the name of the woman... er... girl that Haru knocked up?”

“Kamenashi Mirai.”

Pi took out his phone and recorded the name. “Okay. I’ll arrange for Ryo-chan to look for the girl.”

“And hire me a physical therapist. The doctor said that with a year, or two, worth of therapy that I’ll be able to regain the ability to walk again.”

“Okay. Consider that done.”

“And Pi...” Jin paused.

“Yeah?”

“Thanks for being patient with me... I know I’m not being myself...”

“Don’t sweat it. I understand.” Pi smiled. “I better go. I have lots of things to do in the office.”

“Bring me some of the paper works; I can manage doing those by myself...”

“Nope, no you can’t. The doctor said you need rest so I’m making sure you’ll have that.” Pi winked and left the room.

It’s been a month since the car crash; Jin was confined to the hospital for three weeks before the doctor gave the okay for him to go home. Right now, he was in the comfort of his own room but it was restricting to be here whenever he compares it to his hospital stay.

The house felt hollow and sad; this was the place where he grew up and younger brother grew up together... and staying there was hard because it made him remember what he had lost.

Jin sighed as he laid his back against the pillows.

-----
“I’m really sorry to have your therapy schedules with me in a twist.” Matsumoto Jun lightly groaned as he tried to walk across the room using support bars.

“It’s okay.” Kame replied, keenly watching Jun’s movements like a hawk would to its prey.

“You do know that you can bring Kou-chan here, don’t you?”

“I know, but it’s not proper.” Kame answered. “Besides, Kousaku understands the nature of my work.”

Jun gave the other man a disapproving glance. “That’s not good. Don’t assume that a kid understands what parents need to do -- it might give them a complex or something.” He wisely advised.

“I know.” Kame sighed. “Thanks for your input, Matsumoto-sama.”

Jun glared. “I told you, it’s just Jun! You’ve been watching over my therapy for a year now so let’s drop the formalities, shall we?”

“Hai, hai~” Kame patronizingly replied as he lightly pressed Jun's knee to check for reflexes. “Raise your right foot and lightly swing it back and forth.” He ordered the patient.

Jun just groaned knowing that the other wouldn’t hear of his request to drop formalities, so all he could do is follow Kame’s lead.

-----
“I found Kamenashi Mirai.” Ryo reported to Jin. “Thing is, she’s already dead.”

“What?” Jin was shocked to learn the news. “And the baby she was carrying?”

“She delivered it safely. She gave birth to Kamenashi Kousaku and died of hemorrhage.”

“Oh...”

“Do you want to confirm if the kid is really an Akanishi? I can arrange for a DNA testing to be done.”

“Please.” Jin nodded his assent. “Where is my nephew staying?”

“His uncle, Kamenashi Kazuya, took him in.”

“Kamenashi Kazuya...”

“He adopted the baby.” Ryo added. “So... if you’re planning to get custody of the child, you may have a hard time doing it.”

“Shit.” Jin shook his head. “I’ll deal with it as soon as we confirm that Kousaku really is an Akanishi.”

“Oh, and Pi said you require a PT?”

“Yeah, why?”

Ryo grinned. “Kamenashi Kazuya is a licensed physical therapist. Do you want me to hire him?”

Jin returned the grin. “Hmmm~ what a great opening, huh?”

“Indeed.” The smaller of the two concurred. “Well, first thing on the list, we need to confirm Kousaku’s lineage.”

“Yeah, do that first.” Jin agreed. “Thanks Ryo.”

“Not a problem.”

-----
A week after, Kame received a message from his superior.

“What? You want me to do a stay-in therapy job?”

Domoto Tsuyoshi rubbed his temples. “Yes. You were specifically requested for this job; apparently someone recommended you to this patient.”

“But you know I can’t do a stay-in job! I have Kousaku!”

“Whom they already know. The client has made arrangements for both you and Kousaku to stay at his vacation home in Okinawa where the sessions will be held for a year or two.”

“Two years? What about my other patients?”

“They will be turned over to the other PTs.”

“Well I’ll be damned.” Kame face-palmed. “Two years?!”

“I said or two.” Tsuyoshi repeated. “It really depends on the patient’s recovery time, you know that.”

“Yes.” Kame sighed.

“I’m sorry Kazuya-kun. The client is a big shot, so we had a hard time convincing them otherwise with your situation.”

“It’s okay, Tsuyoshi-senpai.” Kame shook his head in disbelief. “Now I’ll have to tell Kousaku that he will have to transfer to another preschool again.”

“You transferred him again?”

Kame nodded. “He kept getting into fights in his previous school.”

“Oh...”

“Just when he was just settling in this new one...”

“I’m sure it’ll be fine.” Tsuyoshi tried to be positive about the work opportunity. “I mean, that’s Okinawa! It’ll be fun for Kousaku~ he’ll get to go to the beach everyday! What kid wouldn’t want that?!”

“Er... you’re probably right.” Kame smiled at the thought of Kousaku playing around the water.

“So you’re cool with this setup? I mean, even if you weren’t, you’ll have to accept the job anyways.” Tsuyoshi muttered as he fixed some of the papers on his desk.

“Yeah. I mean, I need to be.” Kame winked cheerfully at his superior who just gave a light laugh at his response. “Pray tell, did this big shot patient tell you who their referrer was?”

“I forgot to ask who it was but you can ask them yourself.”

“Yeah, I’ll do exactly as that...” Kame made a mental note to ask his new patient of this information.

A/N: Mwahahaha~ sorry for the names I used for the extra characters on this chapter. I was too lazy to think of names so I used fellow JE peeps as characters. Oh, and by the way, both Hina and Sho-chan played preschool teachers or daycare teachers, however you want to call them! so I thought it’d be cute to make them teachers here too! XD

I was feeling a little better these days, plus I sorta enjoyed my first two days at my uni so I bring you this update. :) I forgot I wrote this way before the move but it escaped my mind until today. Hope you liked it, no matter how short it is.

Comments are really loved and welcomed!
