Rachel's Birthday

Dec 08, 2008 06:24

I didn't post an update for Friday 5th December, Rachel was very busy finishing her paper, so I kept (mostly) out of her way.

Saturday morning Rachel was up early just finishing off her two due papers, I woke up as she was proof-reading them ready to take them over to Dr White's place. We drove out there around mid-day, and I got to see Savannah high-street, I'll be over there again I'm sure and I'll remember to take some pictures! I have taken some pictures that you can see below :) not the best I could achieve with Ashley's camera, but they capture the event nonetheless. Once we were finished with the papers we headed on to do some shopping. I got a little hungry and suggested we ate at Subway, and then we didn't have much time. We did have time enough to pop into The Old Navy (clothing store) and purchased a new pair of jeans, a new shirt, and some Khakis (cream coloured trousers, loose-fitting). Unfortunately I had to leave behind some pin-stripe trousers that were really nice but they didn't stock my size :-(.

We left for dinner, picking up Simon along the way, and back to the high-street. I was introduced to many of Rachel's friends as I enjoyed the pint pictured below. That night I actually enjoyed a few pints of beer, including the Wychwood and a few Black Sheep Ales too. Dinner was delicious, I ordered Roast Beef with Yorkshire Pudding (with gravy)... Rachel had Bangers And Mash. I also enjoyed the company of Rachel's friends. After dinner we headed to a place that serves ice-cream, I had a nice two scoops of rum and rasin (mmm! nom-nom-nom, or slurp-slurp-slurp?).

Sunday we slept in, Rachel being tired after several nights of studying and catching a few hours where she could. All we done was watch Dr Who in bed, that Rachel had been given as a birthday gift from Don. Apparently after Rachel came home from England she became a Dr Who geek and has caught up on most of the new series' - Rachel and I had enjoyed most of the last series while she stayed with me during the summer.
