I don't know if it's different in Louisiana but over here you can attend classes even if you're not sure what your major should be. You'll just be listed as "undecided" and your adviser(s) will probably try to pressure you into deciding right then and there but if you're not ready to decide, don't rush it. Be careful when picking out your classes though. Don't pick all the easy shit just for credits. If you're just going to a junior or community college make sure you take classes with credits that can be transfered to a four year (private or public). Four years seem to love English, math, and various humanities classes on your resume. Volunteer work also looks good and I would recommend buddying up with at least one professor just in case you need a letter of recommendation (if you transfer).
