He opened the door and walked in, not really caring that the door was still open now. It didn't matter now, did it? He plopped down on his bed, forgetting for the moment that Kaidoh was still there.
They still hadn't found her... After all that searching. Even though Hika-chan wasn't his he was still worried. She was the only cat in the camp that he could play with so of course he would worry about her and not want her kicked out if she was found. But that wasn't the only thing that worried him. Choutarou seemed to be pretty shaken up about the whole ordeal. With an irritated hiss Kaidoh broke the silence. "We looked everywhere..." The mamushi tried to think of something else he couldn't.
The silver haired male looked up at Kaidoh. "I know...Thank you for helping me look Kaidoh-kun."He gave a small almost forced smile. He ran a hand through his hair. "Maybe...I should have taken my parents advice when they told me not to bring her. At least I'd know where she is." He bit his lip. They'd searched everywhere. Where could Hika-chan be?
Kaidoh wasn't good at handling situations like these. "Maybe she's... exploring? She has been trying to get out... She probably just wants to see the camp... She should come back on her own..." And that was true. Cats know the way home. He hope that had cheered the other up a bit...
Choutarou leaned forward and rested his head in his hands. True she'd been trying to get out of the room for a while.. Exploring did sound like something a cat would want to do. "I guess you're right... She could be back soon... I hope so anyway..."
Kaidoh sat down next to Choutarou and nodded. Patting the taller boy's back he softly said. "She'll be okay." He really didn't like seeing the other so sad. Silently, he prayed that the cat would return soon, for Choutarou's sake.
Choutarou nodded slowly. "Yeah...she'll be fine." Choutarou leaned slightly closer to Kaidoh. He knew he probably shouldn't, but he couldn't help himself.
Kaidoh tensed up, he noticed the slight movement. Not really used to any sort of closeness he was tempted to push away, but this was a special case. Choutarou was still upset and Kaidoh wanted to do what he could to help so he didn't move. He let the saddened boy lean.
Choutarou let out a breath when the other didn't push him away. "Thank you again for helping me Kaidoh-kun. I'm sure you had other things you could have been doing." He didn't move from where he was. "Um...You don't have to stay if you don't want to..."
‘Not really.’ He thought. The training for that day was already done. Now all that was left to do was check his friend list and that he could do anytime. Besides... though he would probably not admit it himself, he enjoyed spending time with the silver haired boy. "If you want me to stay... I will..."
Choutarou bit his lip again. H e wasn't sure what to say to that. "It's whatever you want to do Kaidoh-kun." He wasn’t going to make the other stay if he didn't want to. "I don't mind if you want to leave. I'll be fine by myself."
Kaidoh wasn't sure of what to do. He went with the first thing he could think of. "...Can I stay? Just so I can know when Hika-chan comes back... Fushuuuu." He hissed in minor embarrassment.
"Um...sure. Stay as long as you want. I don't mind." He sat up and stood, walking over to his things. "Do you want anything? When I asked for my parents to send some school supplies, my sister sent snacks. You can have some if you want." He pulled out a few snacks from a box.
Kaidoh didn't want to impose on the other but he was hungry... After some deliberation he got up and walked over to Choutarou and the snacks. Grabbing one he bowed his head in gratitude and thanked the other, then started eating it carefully as to not make a mess.
Choutarou smiled and went back over to sit on his bed. "I'm going have to keep more of an eye on Hika-chan when she gets back." he said aloud. "I also need to pay more attention to her."
Still snacking Kaidoh went to sit by Choutarou. "Maybe she just needs to play more? Then she'll stay around... You know, if she's happy and tired." He tried to make sense of what he wanted to say. "...I could always help with that..." That would give Kaidoh more chances to play with Hika-chan and, as a result, hang out with her owner.
"I guess you could help. She likes you enough." He scratched the back of his head. "I don't mind you being around. We could even study together. I mean sure our classes are different, but I'm sure we could help each other." Choutarou cleared his throat.
Kaidoh nodded. "Yeah..." He couldn’t help but think that Choutarou was acting a bit... odd. He pushed that thought quickly aside. "That would be... uh... nice."
"Yeah" Choutarou smiled. "It would." He laughed a little. "I feel a lot better now. Thank you.”
"You're welcome. I guess I should get going now..." Kaidoh stood up. "I'll see you later."
Choutarou nodded. "See you later Kaidoh-kun." He stood also, going to the door to lock it after the other left. "You'll be the first to know if Hika-chan comes back."
Kaidoh half-smiled. "Heh, good." Then he took his leave and headed to his room, all the while keeping an eye out for the kitten.
