Fuji found his way back to Yukimura's room, hoping that the other boy would be inside, and he knocked gently on the door. He was planning to ask Yukimura a couple of things, things that had born out of their last conversation, and this seemed as good a time as any.

Sitting on his, bed, Yukimura read one of the gardening books he'd brought with him, waiting for something interesting to happen.  At the sound of Fuji's knock on the door, he called out "Come in," and sat up, so that there would be more room to sit on the bed, since there certainly wasn't any room elsewhere.

"Hello, Yukimura, it's me," Fuji said cheerfully as he poked his head inside. "Are you busy?"

"No," responded Yukimura, smiling, "Come sit down." He said, turning off the music that he'd been listening to.

"What brings you here today?"  He asked curiously.

"Boredom." Fuji winked. "And of course, I like your company." He accepted the invite to sit down and caught a glimpse of the book the blue haired boy was reading. After that, he took a chance to glance around and smiled even more. Yukimura's room was really pretty, the flowers really helped with the interior.

Shifting a few of the plants that had been sitting right next to the bed, Yukimura put his book on a shelf, between two plants.

"I see," He said, "I'm glad my company is appreciated."

"Greatly." Fuji tucked a few strands of hair behind his ear and smiled. "Now, What I wanted to ask you... First of all, you were serious about the green house, weren't you? It's going to cost money, you realize that, right?"

"I do," Yukimura said, his smile slightly more serious, "But most of my time (when I wasn't practicing or doing homework or in school) was spent in the green house I have at home, and it's very... awkward to not have one.  I often find myself with much too much time on my hands."

Tucking a strand of hair behind his ear, Yukimura got up to look for an elastic to tie it up, it was getting pretty long...maybe it was time to get it cut again.

"I guess I can understand that..." Fuji watched the other boy carefully. "When I was home, I used to be out in the garden a lot. You know, tending to my apple tree, reading, that sort of thing. I love being surrounded by growing things, you know?"

"Yes, it is quite calming, especially when it's quiet," Yukimura responded, knowing exactly what Fuji meant, "its part of the reason I brought all my plants with me to camp."
Finally finding an elastic hiding between the leaves of one of his tomato plants, he tied his hair back to keep it out of his face.

Fuji nodded, sucking thoughtfully on the insides of his cheeks. "You have pretty hair, you know." Not that it was something you usually told another guy, but Fuji had never once considered himself ordinary, so that didn't matter much, did it?

"Why thank you," Yukimura said, surprised by the compliment, "So, would you like a snack?  I believe some of the tomatoes and cucumbers are ripe..."

He knew that most of the vegetables and fruits that he'd grown would probably end up in the kitchen, but for now, he hadn't really done any serious harvesting.

"Tomatoes, please." Fuji laughed, making a vague dismissive gesture. "I'm allergic to cucumbers."

Smiling serenely, Yukimura made a note of that fact and went over to the tomatoes plants, which were all against one wall, and picked some of the riper tomatoes, leaving the ones that weren't quite ripe to mature.

Taking out a plate, he set the tomatoes on it, and then put it down on the bed, sitting down on one side.

Fuji reached out and took one, feeling the sweet smell that came from it, and bit down, the flesh juicy and easily giving away underneath his teeth, tomato juice spilling down on his chin. "Oh... Oh, this is good~!"

Getting out napkins silently, Yukimura offered on to Fuji, keeping the other for himself as he ate one of the tomatoes as well.

Once finished, Fuji wiped his face and his hands, beaming towards the other boy. "You really made it with these~ I'm impressed."

"I'm glad," Yukimura said, nodding to himself, "I take care that the plants bear good fruit, even if it means making them bear less.  Quality rather that quantity I say."

Walking over to the windowsill, Yukimura restlessly moved around the pots to get more sunlight to different plants.  He didn't really like staying in one place long unless it involved either tennis or reading.  It reminded him of his time in the hospital, where he hadn't been allowed to move around much, and was often confined to the bed.

"You look like you could need some change of scenery," Fuji pointed out, happy to get to his second question. "And that's actually what I was here for. You still up for that tennis game?"

"Of course," Yukimura responded, happy to have an excuse to go outdoors and move around, "I'm always up for tennis."

"Do you have your racket?" he asked, grabbing his tennis bag after putting the plate back in its spot. He opened the door, motioning for Fuji to follow.

Fuji got to his feet, grabbing another tomato off the plate and nodded. "Just outside the door. You ready to go?"

"Yes," Yukimura responded, opening the door for Fuji.

Stepping outside, Fuji grabbed his bag and threw it over his shoulder, stopping only to cough for a moment. He had been coughing for two days now, and he was starting to think that he might be coming down with something. Annoying, that.

Hearing Fuji cough, Yukimura's smile diminished some, and he hoped it wouldn't affect the other boy's game.

"Are you alright?" he asked, closing the door behind him and slinging his racket bag over his shoulder.

"Yes, I'm fine." Fuji shrugged, holding the front door open for Yukimura. "Just the beginning of a cold, I think."

"Ah," Yukimura responded, going out the front door and waiting for Fuji to follow.

The air was cold, but the sun was out, and the sky was high. It was a nice day, even though you could feel that summer was long gone. "I heard that you arranged a really... Intense training schedule for the former Rikkai team, nee?"

"I suppose it's a bit much, but really, if I had something else to do, perhaps it would be less drastic.  Besides, they've probably been slacking while I wasn't here, and their movements are all slow.  Sanada helped to arrange it." Yukimura responded, walking along beside Fuji, the weather was nice for tennis, so there was a nice match ahead, or at least he hoped so...

"I haven't done any real tennis training for weeks. Which is horribly odd, since this is a tennis camp." Fuji frowned. "So far, all I see is people goofing off."

"Quite true...” Yukimura said, not quite frowning, "I'm hoping the training schedule will be able to make up for all the slacking my teammates were doing."

"Hopefully." Fuji gave a small laugh. "I've heard that Niou-kun's been up to a lot, so maybe it would make it safer for people if he were too exhausted to pull any pranks, nee?"

"Indeed," Yukimura responded, "that's pretty much the only way I could ever keep him in line at school, and even then, it didn't completely stop him from playing his tricks.”

"He's a bit special, isn't he?" He sort of reminded Fuji of Eiji, only a lot more... Well, he wasn't really sure he could even find the right word. But both of them enjoyed having fun, he knew that much.

"Yes, unique in his own way.  He likes to get noticed, a bit of a childish mentality really."  Finally arriving at the tennis courts, Yukimura entered court A, taking his racket out of the bag.

Fuji put down his bag, pulled out his racket, a few balls and his towel. Tucking a couple of balls into the pockets of his shorts, then bounced the third against the ground. "Kind of like Kikumaru. Only, he doesn't pull pranks on people... Not too often at least."

"I don't know your Kikumaru too well, so I won't comment on that...” Yukimura got into position on the other side of the court.

Fuji was about to ask about rough or smooth, but thought better of it. Yukimura was in a league far above him, he knew that much, but he was in fact intending to go all out, since this actually was Yukimura playing against him. "Anyway... I'll take the first serve."

"Go ahead," Yukimura said, watching Fuji get into position and reviewing what he knew about the other boy's play style.

Deciding to go all out to begin with, and see if he still got it, Fuji bounced the ball a few times, then grabbed it in his hand, putting a spin on it, and then sent his disappearing serve flying away across the court.

Watching Fuji's "invisible serve" Yukimura did nothing to return it, instead studying its trajectory, where it landed, and how it disappeared.

"15-love" He said, announcing the score in Fuji's favor.

Something was going on. Yukimura didn't return it. On purpose. Which probably meant he was collecting data. Well, then he'd just have to do something about it. The thing he did was send over a perfectly ordinary serve

Returning the serve this time, Yukimura sighed, he wasn't in his best shape today, and his body was aching a bit, but he did what he could to ignore it.  Watching the ball drop in the back left corner of Fuji's court, he waited to see what the boy would do.

Fuji dashed towards the ball, and just as he was about to catch it, he had to stop, coughing again. Damn it!

His smile nearly gone, Yukimura jogged over to the net to see what had happened.

"Fuji-kun!" he said, his voice laced with concern, "Are you alright?"

Coughing again, Fuji straightened himself up and shook his head. "Just the cold. I'm sorry about that..."

"It's alright," Yukimura said kindly, "Would you like to redo that one?"

"Yes please, if there's not too much trouble." Fuji smiled appologetically.

"Sure" Yukimura responded, returning to position in his court.

Bouncing lightly on the balls of his feet, he waited for Fuji's serve.

Fuji positioned himself as well, threw the ball up in the air and raised his racket... Only to feel a vertigo come over him in full force, and before he really realized what was happening, he found himself on the ground, panting and coughing and wondering just why his hands and knees hurt so much, as it didn't dawn on him that he had scraped himself pretty badly as he fell.

Yukimura, seeing Fuji fall and start hacking, ran over to the other boy, jumping over the net.  He didn't want the other boy to over extend himself, so he helped him to stand, bracing his weight on his shoulder.  Helping the smaller boy over to the bench, setting him down softly.

"We should tend to those scrapes on your knees," Yukimura said, once the second coughing fit had died down.

"Tha... thanks," Fuji muttered, a bit disoriented. Was he running a fever? His eyelids sure felt warm and heavy as he blinked, that much was certain. This was some timing for his body to start acting up... "I... guess I'm a little sick..."

"Indeed," Yukimura said, "Why don't I bring you to the infirmary and tend to your knees.  They're bleeding pretty thickly, so any dirt should have been washed out."

So saying, he lifted Fuji up and carried him bridal style in the direction of the infirmary.  He seemed to be making a habit of it, now that he thought about it.  First Atobe, now Fuji.

Fuji really didn't have any time to object and he found himself being carried away - and Yukimura was surprisingly strong he noted - towards the infirmary. "This is a bit embarrassing..."

"I'm sorry," Yukimura said unrepentantly, "But it is the fastest way to get you there."

"I suppose, but... I'm feeling a bit..." What? Like a girl? Helpless? Awkward? Any of those words would probably be a bit compromising, so Fuji decided to keep from ending that sentence.

Yukimura smiled, somewhat comfortingly, and continued on his way to the infirmary.

Finally reaching the door to the infirmary, he opened it, and let himself in.  The nurse was very nice about it, letting him set Fuji down on one the beds, and handing him disinfectant and bandages to deal with the scrapes.

Meanwhile, Fuji fought against the vertigo that caused him to almost see double and he wanted nothing more than to lay down on the bed and close his eyes, but he really didn't want to show that sort of weakness in front of Yukimura, so he set his jaw stubbornly, waiting for the other boy to finish tending to his wounds.

Gently bandaging up the cuts, Yukimura clipped the bandages and stood up, happy with his work.

Fuji looked up, smiling. "Thank you."

"You’re welcome," Yukimura said.  "However, I think our game shall have to be postponed to another day."

"I'm sorry about this," Fuji muttered, looking down on his bandaged hands.

"It's alright," Yukimura said, smiling.

Fuji made a light shrug, smiling softly. "I still feel bad about it."

"You can pay me back with a game when you're completely healthy again then," Yukimura said.

Flopping back on the bed, Fuji nodded. "Yeah... Soon, I hope."

Leaving Fuji to rest in the infirmary, Yukimura returned to his room to prune his mini rosebush.
