Who: Sanada Genichirou, Niou Masaharu, Yagyuu Hiroshi
What: Yagyuu and Sanada talk about Niou.
Where: Sanada's room
Rating: uhh... it's these three together. Enough said.
Comments: ... some days I really pity Sanada.

Yagyuu checked his reflection in the reflective surface of the window, righting his spectacles and running a hand over his hair. It wouldn't do to look anything less than immaculate. He looked down at the basket of fruit in his arms and threw out a grape whose colour did not quite match the rest of the bunch.
Clearing his throat, he knocked on Sanada's door and called out, "Good evening, Sanada-kun. Are you busy?"

Sanada was sitting on his bed in his room, very glad that his roommate was currently out of the room and he had the room to himself. He looked up as he heard a knock on the door and frowned, hearing Yagyuu's voice. What exactly had Yagyuu heard from his doubles partner to bring him here? Sanada sighed and found himself speaking.
"I'm not busy. Come in, Yagyuu." He was probably going to regret this later.

"Thank you, Sanada-kun." Yagyuu opened the door and bowed politely before coming in and standing in the middle of the room.
"I hope I haven’t disturbed you. But..." Yagyuu paused, "I've noticed that you've been looking rather stressed at training lately. I apologize for Niou-kun's lack of discipline."
He held out the basket of fruit for Sanada.

Sanada was silent as Yagyuu walked into the room. His hair was falling into his face with his cap sitting on top of his pillow on the other end of the bed. He grunted as Yagyuu spoke, to say that he'd heard. There was a pause as he accepted the basket of fruit and put it on the bed next to him, pausing again to think how to word his question. "Yagyuu... has Niou ever... ... jumped on you?"

Yagyuu stared at Sanada for a moment. His glasses glinted although the only light source was a small lamp on Sanada's reading table.
His voice sounded strained. "Occasionally. It is his own special way of expressing his approval. If he wraps his arms around one's neck it represents celebration. If he wipes his perspiration on one's collar it represents resent."
He looked at Sanada curiously. "Would you mind if I asked why?"

Normally he wouldn't talk to Yagyuu in this manner, and was quite confused as to why he was even planning on sharing this with him. But Sanada had reasoned that Yagyuu knew Niou the best out of all of them, and would probably be able to understand the strange behavioural quirks of the trickster. "... he jumped on me after practice. ... he didn't stop at the... celebration though."

Yagyuu looked puzzled. He opened his mouth and closed it.
He tightened his necktie.
"I am afraid I don't understand, Sanada-kun. Is it possible that Niou-kun applied high pressure to your head with his palms? I have witnessed that on several occasions."

Sanada didn't want to know exactly whom Niou had "applied high pressure to your head with his palms" to. But Yagyuu seemed interested as to what Niou had done, and maybe he could actually figure out whatever Niou had been thinking when he'd done... that.
"No. There was... touching and..." Sanada twitched before saying the next word, "... tongue..." He paused for a moment, regaining his fuku-buchou composure. "Yagyuu, you can sit on the chair." He nodded at the desk chair to the side.

Yagyuu worked to keep his mouth in a straight line. Sanada-kun would feel uncomfortable if he didn't try his best to be sensitive.
He sat obediently on the chair and crossed his legs at the ankle.
"So...you wish to say that Niou-kun tried to cleanse your face from perspiration with his tongue?"

Sanada twitched again at the question. That... probably would have been less horrifying than what had actually happened. ... Actually, that way he probably could have treated Niou like a dog and whacked him around the face. He coughed lightly. "... Neck." That should be a satisfactory answer.

Yagyuu smiled gently at Sanada. "Niou-kun decided to help you cleanse your neck area. You tend to sweat profusely after training, Sanada-kun. Perhaps you should bring a handkerchief."

"..." How was he supposed to respond to something like that? Sanada was silent for a while, pondering what he had been told. Perhaps there hadn't been anything bad in the action after all... since this was apparently Niou's way of expression some kind of twisted affection. "I have a towel for that." he said finally. It was then that he remembered what else Niou had done. "That doesn't explain the... touching..." he paused, rather reluctant to continue his sentence, "... Touching down... there."

Yagyuu's eyebrows ascended under his fringe.
"It would be appreciated if you were clearer in your lamentation, Sanada-kun. Did Niou-kun insist on a shoulder massage? Did he try to prematurely remove the scab on your knee? Did he punch your knees out while you were doing squats?"

Sanada sighed in frustration as Yagyuu questioned him. Of course the gentleman wouldn't know what he was talking about. Yagyuu was too... polite to know about things like that. "It was..." he leaned towards Yagyuu and brushed his hand lightly from the boy's hip, over the groin and trailed briefly over the thigh. "... around there." Sanada sat back, feeling distinctly awkward now. However, he kept his stoic fuku-buchou face on, hoping that it was enough to convince Yagyuu that it had simply been a demonstration and wasn't in anyway directed at him in any sexual manner.

"I...see." Yagyuu replied in his perfectly cultured, perfectly modulated voice, eyes never leaving Sanada's face despite being molested. "And what was your response to his behaviour? Do you find that your own behaviour warranted such treatment?"

Sanada frowned in thought. He hadn't done anything different from normal today towards Niou. So what exactly had prompted Niou to suddenly jump on him? "... I might have slapped him a bit." He had been playing up during training and Sanada had simply lost his cool and delivered a few well earned slaps across the face. It had been perfectly justified violence.

"Ah...Sanada-kun," Yagyuu said gently, putting his hands on his lap as if to ward off any more of Sanada's advances. "I feel you should know this."
He cleared his throat softly, "Under certain circumstances Niou-kun gets instant gratification from let’s say...punitive action of the corporal kind."

"..." Well... at least Yagyuu was proving that he did know his doubles partner to an extent that others didn't. Sanada's frown deepened and he stared at his knees while thinking. "I've slapped Niou plenty of times and he's never done anything like that before." What had been so different this time around?
... Did it have something to do with that drinking evening they had had, perhaps?

Yagyuu's lips tightened into a line again.
He tried to say something appropriate. Would it be appropriate to offer Sanada a banana from the bunch? Then again, Sanada-kun seemed to be awfully horny today. He might take it the wrong way. Perhaps he was repressed. That was why he put his cap on, to suppress his insatiable sexual appetite. Ah, there was something appropriate.
"Perhaps Niou-kun is repressed," He told Sanada with a small nod of his head.

Would it be wrong for him to snap "Why couldn't he take it out on you!?" at Yagyuu? He decided in an instant that yes, it would be very bad for him to lose his temper at this point. He was silent instead, unable to think of a reply. Sanada settled with a shrug of the shoulders eventually. "Niou is always 'repressed'."

Yagyuu nodded again.
"Niou-kun is a lonely person." He blinked, baffled as to why he just said that. "He is misunderstood, as are most geniuses."

Niou a genius? Fuji Syusuke was a genius. Marui Bunta was a genius. Yukimura Seiichi was... well, Yukimura was beyond all tennis players. But he had never once thought of Niou as a genius. A good tennis player, yes. But most certainly not in the ranks of the prodigies. He shrugged though, mumbling a "perhaps" to Yagyuu. "I don't see him as lonely though."

Yagyuu gave a slight shrug of his shoulders, looking unruffled. "That is correct. You don't see it."
He carried on by saying, "But this is about you, Sanada-kun. How did you feel when Niou-kun launched his unprovoked assault on you publicly?"

Sanada didn't say anything until he was asked about how he felt. ... was this some crazed counselling session or something? Yagyuu most certainly was playing the part. "... disturbed." was his only answer. "Very disturbed." Niou was naturally a forward looking person, however today's incident had been much more... pro-active than he normally was.

"And what was your response during and after the incident? Could you please give me specifics of the situation? I would like to speak to Niou-kun about this shortly."
Yagyuu looked deep in thought. "Also, could you use some adjectives?"

Sanada twitched at the question. Yagyuu wanted him to describe what happened? He had assumed that Yagyuu was simply too gentleman-like to want to know any specifics. And why did he need to ask him? Niou would probably be more than happy to supply details. However, Yagyuu didn't look like he was budging anytime soon, and if he spoke to Niou about it, perhaps Niou would leave Sanada alone. "... he jumped on me after training. And... touching... and... tongue..." his eye twitched. "Then he laughed and walked away." The final bit he was more than comfortable saying.

"You seem very opposed to being the subject of Niou-kun's affection." Yagyuu said seriously, pushing his glasses up the bridge of his nose. "What about Niou-kun repulses you?"
Then he smiled and said, "Don't worry. I will not judge you based on what you say."

He was silent, thinking about what Yagyuu was asking. What about Niou repulsed him? He didn't really need Yagyuu knowing everything he thought about Niou and then relaying it to his doubles partner at some later date. However the answer was fairly easy to that question, and he had a suspicion that both Niou and Yagyuu knew the answer anyway. "He's lazy and slacks off. Unmotivated."

Yagyuu smiled a bit wider.
"Have you considered that perhaps his interests lie out of tennis?" He told Sanada reasonably, watching as Sanada looked momentarily horrified. "What about...physically, Sanada-kun? Surely you have some preferences."

He was quite horrified at the thought that someone's interests could lie outside of tennis. Sure, Sanada did kendo, however his main focus in life was tennis. And all tennis players’ main interest should be tennis. His eye twitched again at the next question. His physical preferences? "No." He paused to consider his answer. "I don't have any preferences."

Yagyuu gave Sanada a small, amused smile. "Have you never thought about...finding a spouse, Sanada-kun?"
He gave Sanada such a polite, concerned look that he knew would make Sanada feel obliged to reply.

Sanada was feeling quite awkward at this point, but met all the questions with what he hoped was a fuku-buchou face. There were of course the questions that made him lose focus for a bit and he let his fuku-buchou face slip, but all in all, he thought he was doing alright. The next question however threw him off balance for a moment. Finding a spouse!? His answer was rather Sanada-ish, however. "Of course not. I focused entirely on Rikkai winning the nationals."

Yagyuu fought to keep his expression neutral. "I'm glad I thought ahead to prepare these, then."
He reached into the inside of his jacket and calmly removed a bisexual fetish magazine, which he handed to Sanada. "Please browse through this and see if it helps in any way at all."

He was silent as he got handed a "bisexual fetish magazine" and told to browse through it. ... Was Yagyuu serious? Sanada glanced down at the cover and felt the vein above his temple begin to throb. "You gave it to the wrong roommate." he said shortly, tossing the magazine over so it landed on Kite's bed. "It didn't help."

Yagyuu looked deeply disappointed. "Don't you want to come to terms with your sexuality, Sanada-kun?" He said placidly, as if they were talking about homework, or tennis, or the weather. "Please don't say you've never been aroused in your life."

Sanada simply glared at Yagyuu for his first question, remaining silent and refusing to answer. There was no "coming to terms with his sexuality" needed. He blinked at the second question, looking quite surprised. "I've never." his expression was completely serious when he said this, and he stared straight at Yagyuu.

Yagyuu stared at Sanada and didn't know how to reply. Then he flushed slightly and said, "That is quite abnormal."

Sanada frowned slightly at Yagyuu's words. It was abnormal? It was abnormal to have never been aroused in one's lifetime? It turned awkwardly silent for a while before Sanada suddenly offered Yagyuu the basket of fruit. "Here. Eat."

Yagyuu peered at the fruit, still put off by Sanada's unnatural declaration. He chose the orange. He appreciated how the banana might have been more suggestive, but Sanada-kun seemed to get excited around balls. He thanked Sanada and made his lips go slack, peeling off the skin of the orange slowly.

Sanada waited till Yagyuu had taken the orange from the basket before returning it to his side on the bed and picking an apple from it. He started eating it, looking idly around the room while he ate. Once or twice he found his gaze returning to Yagyuu as he ate his orange, thinking a few times that maybe he should offer the boy a tissue. Oranges were messy fruits to eat, after all. "You have juice on your chin. Do you want a tissue?"

Yagyuu licked his lips sultrily. He raised his thumb to his lips and licked that too. He kept his eyes trained on Sanada's lap for any tell-tale signs.
"Yes please," He told Sanada and gave him a slow smile.

Sanada finished his apple pretty quickly, eating everything except the little stick at the top - seeds and all - tossing the stick into the bin. He nodded at Yagyuu answer and reached over to get the tissue box, holding it out to the gentleman. He then returned it to the table and turned back to look at Yagyuu. "What exactly are you trying to do?"

Yagyuu looked up at Sanada over the rims of his spectacles and didn't answer. Instead, he wiped his mouth delicately with the tissue, and then his chin.

Sanada frowned as Yagyuu wiped his chin. What was that? His hand suddenly shot out and grabbed Yagyuu by the chin and peered closely at it. He snatched the tissue out of Yagyuu's hand and wiped his chin some more, his expression darkening as make-up came off on the tissue. And he could very clearly see a mole that most certainly belonged to Niou. Sanada let go of the boy's chin and sat back in disgust. "I should have known."

Niou glared defiantly at Sanada but when his chin was released, he had the decency to look mortified. He squirmed in the chair at the look of revulsion Sanada gave him and said quietly, "Are you going to hit me?"

He was not amused right now, seeing Niou sitting in front of him. ... he could not believe he'd just told Niou all of that, thinking it was his half-decent doubles partner. Sanada simply glowered at the question, sitting back on his bed and looking at Niou. "No. Just get out."

Niou twiddled his thumbs, wondering why he wasn't getting that exhilarating thrill that usually came from playing these mind games. He found himself feeling somewhat ashamed and unable to look Sanada in the eye. His insides twisted.
"..." Niou opened his mouth to say something, but didn't know what to say. Sanada wouldn't accept it anyway. He'd always toed the line but perhaps this time he'd gone a bit too far.
"Yes, Sanada." He said and got up, almost wishing Sanada would slap him. It would be better than the horrible silence Sanada was giving him.
