At work today, I encountered a customer that looked as if she had a bloated tick on the front-side of her neck.
But it could've just been a birth-mark that was a bit more externalized than most.
I ended up not saying anything because I didn't want to offend her if it was just part of her neck.
I didn't inform someone that she had a bloodsucking parasite latched onto her flesh because I was afraid she'd take it the wrong way.
I don't like this. That our society is so easily offended that it leads to this kind of thing. That businesses are so afraid of losing customers that they encourage their employees to not do anything that may, however slim the chance, offend one, no matter the intent.
Also: gods, I hate ticks. Such a vile concept. Ick.
