Went this past Saturday to see the M3 fest with my Buddy Tony, his bro Johnny and their dad. I got there a bit too early, or they left a bit too late, so I got chick fil a, drank a colt 45 in the mall parking lot, and then walked over to the venue. As I was walking over to the other parking lot (at the venue) A pickup truck stops and a dor opens "Hey Stevie jump in!" I love it when a plan comes together. We hang out in the parking lot, drinking refreshing beverages. Mind you this is like 1 PM and the sun is broiling us. I am glad I wore shorts.
We eventually head in and hear some of LA Guns. We walk around a bit before Winger comes on. They sounded good but they started what would be a theme for the day- they had a weak set list. We loaf around and get some more dranks (mind you we had a few (more for the other dudes) outside, a mysterious Jack Daniels Jello shot, and several more venue beers- my total must have been like 12 since the ones in te venue were like 24 oz). Thankfully I had breakfast and some nuggs earlier (and the remnants of some nachos Mr. Anthony got. Much better than last year.
Strolled over to see BANG TANGO, but we got there a bit later and left a bit early due to KIX. KIX was great, Vince Neil's half singing was a bit better this time, but still eh. Cinderella sounded strong. Warrant was great ( I don't think they had Jani Lane this year but the dude sounded close enough). SCORPIONS FINALLY came on like 10:20. A little late for a place where there is some noise ordinance. They had a WEAK set list but sounded amazing. Klaus said he was a little sick. If he sounds that great when sick, how amazing would he sound when full health!? We left kind of early because Tony and co. wanted to beat traff. I left when they did. Finally heard part of BLACKOUT while I was leaving in my car :(
Overall a fun time, but def needed some set list revisions.
Orders a bit jumbled except for the last 2, where I got em off some site because I could only recall like half of what Cinderella played and had to leave Scorps early.
UPDATE: one band played part of HEAVEN AND HELL!!! and we \m/ rocked until they stopped after the first verse. Some other band (Vince I think?) played it...AGAIN but still only that part of it...
