GSO

Yesterday I went to see JennG perform in that Gamer Symphony Orchestra (GSO) at UMD .
There were a lot of gamers and geeks, and NON gamers too (parents, even some old ppl). It was a very good turnout. Everyone sounded really good, and you could tell these people were serious about their craft. I was confused by the conductor walking off the stage and then back after every song. And to confuse things more there was a revolving door of conductors!

I sat with Stargirl Lauren, Nick, and a couple Dans (one of which was at the Sonata Arctica show previous, as I remembered about at intermission) . And this stanky smelling guy with a  faded Wolverine shirt who did not take off his boonie indoors. ugh. People liked my hat.

I was sitting, drawing, with the music to help the creative juices flow. Drew some neat things. What was odd was, the sweaty geek next to me asked if he could draw on my sketchbook. I handed him a lined pad I happened to have with me and a pen. I take out my backup pen and keep sketching. He hands me back the pad with a drawing of some FF VIII character, gunblade and all. Not badly drawn, but not very well drawn either... I just took it and put it in my bag, not sure what to say. As Dan 2 said later " He coulda drawn a better character at lesat." and "I'm surprised he didn't give you his number."
It's not like I was struggling drawing there, so I'm not sure what the heck was going on in his mind.

8.      Katamari Damacy
Encore: Still Alive

Afterwards, we went to Chipotle (where Nick and co got lost and the Dans and I were munching away waiting for everyone to arrive).  People seemed to dig my post it note sketches, so that was fun even if Nick ended up looking like a Vampire. One guy apparently was a programmer for 11$/hr. We all told him that was BS and he needed to ask for a raise or a new job.  As we were walking to Bubble Tea, we noticed some very hoochilicious girls skanking it up (some frat/sorority thing I am assuming) and a guy in a horrible looking porkpie.
I had a watermelon milk tea, and we all relaxed for a bit, and then headed hommes. Some interesting people~

Fun fact: 2 Dans, 2 Asian Jenns. I proposed a mixed tag team match to take place to determine the dominance. Not sure if they will do it, but one Dan seemed pressed about it.
