Art Spiegelman

E and I saw Art Spiegelman give a talk at the Corchran on Monday, May 4.

It was very interesting, as he talked about history of comics, adding in how he understood it and particular events or aspects that affected him. A portion of the content was from his 'Breakdowns' book, and even though I had already read it, it was appropriate in the context of the talk.
I was familiar with most topics he discussed (Seduction of the innocent, Horror comics, comics code authority, etc.), but it was still entertaining and interesting to me, the way he presented items.

He def. knew his stuff, did research and the like. He initially was being glib and a little disdainful of anime/manga, but that was not the case when he answered a question from the audience at the end and indicated thru terms his knowledge of manga.

After the lecture and a quick Q&A, he did stick around for a little bit, but did no signing :( BUT E and I did get a photo with him.
"arranged by height" as my sister said
