Writer's Block: I Can Relate

Jun 18, 2009 14:42

Cassie from Skins. If you haven't heard of Skins, it's a British teen dramedy show, which tackles common issues teens face every day. It's a raunchier version of Degrassi, for all you American teen drama lovers out there.

Cassie is one of the central characters, who's most common problems involve her lack of mental stability. Throughout the series, she shows traits of eating disorders, OCD, depression, suicidal tendancies, self injury, drug addiction, and even a case of psychosis (in one episode, she hallucinates an anonymous "texter", sending her messages saying simply "EAT!").

I can relate to her a lot, because I have been through and dealt with a lot of problems she goes through. It's almost therapeutic to know that I am not alone in feeling this way, and I think other people with these problems can feel relieved to know that they are not alone as well.

Cheers to Skins!
