Another weekend update
Friday - It was Jenny’s day off. Finally! Since she came here 5 months ago this was her first day off cos she is not comfortable going out on her own. It’s good that she has made some friends here. Morning we went out early for this basketball competition organized by our company. Although it was an all guys match I still joined in for few minutes of the game. The referee was funny and very lenient when it comes to me. He will foul anyone who tries to snatch away my ball and even let me stand closer to the net when I have free throws. Hilarious! I scored 4 points for our team. Wohoo! The match came to a draw at finish time. 60 - 60. I had a good time! Even ty was so well behaved just sitting on the bench watching the game. So cute!
Fun and fulfilling!
Sat - Lost my handphone in the supermarket. How careless can I be? I was upset when Siong chide me for being careless. Although I know I deserve the reprimand I wish that he would comfort me instead. Nevertheless I got a new handphone. The same afternoon the ear infection that has been bothering me for weeks has taken a turn for the worse. We went around in the hot sun looking for clinics and when we finally found it, we discover that it was closed in the afternoon. Damn! We finally return home close to 4pm and had a late lunch then. By then my mood was close to killing someone and still I get no comfort from my hubby. Sometimes I feel that Siong is getting less sensitive to my mood and feelings. Is this the norm for married couples?
Very moody and upset
Sunday - Decided to go see doctor for my earache and get a MC. The bloody consultation cost 155Dhs! Gosh! And that’s not even including the cost of the ear- drops she prescribed for me. I haven’t had a MC since I came here to Dubai 5 months ago. That’s a record for me! Anyway it was a relaxing day for me. I spend the day watching my SATC episodes which I missed so much (Where the hell is my SATC book?), called up my parents and my in-laws and even get to go out suntaning for a while. I wish I had more days like this. I don’t mind being a tai tai at all.

Oh I started my driving lessons already. Can’t believe that I’d already started to drive on my very first lesson! And to think I haven’t even taken my theory lessons yet. That’s how they teach over here; driving lessons to familiarize yourself first follow by signal tests, then driving on the road again. Compared to Spore it’s cheaper and faster to get your driving license here, but is it safe for me? (and others on the road with me) There’s an article in the newspaper that says the number of ppl getting killed on Dubai roads is higher than the numbers killed in some war zones. I really believe that now.
Had 2 very successful cooking sessions over the weekend; Pineapple rice and Green Curry Chicken. Delicious! Sawatdee Kaa!
