Got to have a good talk with mom driving here from Berkeley, which always turns out to be kind of interesting. We got to talking about family, and I kind of realized for the first time that my grandmother is someone I should probably find out more about before she dies. As it turns out she came here escaping the fascist regime in Italy. It's why she always gets pissed off at people who badmouth America. It's like, "Yeah, you guys get all indignant when your politicians lie to you. No, no, I get it, it's cute. Lemmie just get my violin her so I can play a somber tune. While I'm at it, I'll get some tissues so you can cry your little eyes out." Which makes sense, if you think about it. (Well, she never really gets pissed off, but you know.)

Also, these are pretty hilarious. I must admit I've fallen in love with this.
