the perseids were fallin' in that hot-house august night

Tonight is the peak time to see the Perseid meteor shower, so everybody poke your head out at some point and see what you can see. I figure that, between light pollution and the fact that "partly cloudy" apparently means "cloud orgy," I'm not going to see much. But I'll still take a walk down the road to see if I can catch any earthgrazers--they'll be low in the northeast sky around sunset (um...here in Ohio, at least, which is GMT -5 I think), and they're supposed to be some of the most beautiful meteors.

Seriously wishing I was in Bethel right now. It's so much darker there. And it's not quite the same watching on my own--Mom and I get out the lawn-chairs when I'm at home, because we're that geeky. We'll probably do that this weekend, anyway, even though the peak will be long over by then.
